Yeah getting 2k at this point in the patch is pretty easy. The real challenge is hitting 2.5k for the thunderstone, and even that you’ll get if you time all 18s or so.
Meh timing 18’s doesn’t appear to be that hard. At least I will have a goal after KSM.
Yep the meta for most people is timing at least 8 18s a week for 3 418 vault options, with maybe a 20 thrown in for a 421. You’ll definitely find a market for farming 18+'s if that’s your goal.
Having KSM means you have KSM.
Not having it doesn’t automatically make you a bad player, having it doesn’t make you a good player either.
Hey, I’m 1 dungeon away from 2k and I fought my way there the whole way with pugs. My guildies turned out to be useless in timing keys. >:|
KSM only means something if you have it week 1-2, which means you put in the work early, with minimal gear and when everything was fresh and before nerfs.
But after that? its literally nothing, i can get KSM in any alt in 2 weeks with zero effort now.
The good players are all at 2600+ io currently, if you stopped pushing and got behind the curve, you’re screwed.
I stopped pushing keys the moment they anounced DT was being removed, so im far behind everyone now, and pugging is nearly impossible.
To be fair KSM outside the first couple of weeks hasn’t meant anything for a long time.
Edit: In terms of how using that as a tool to determine who is going to perform well in higher keys. It’s a perfectly fine goal for anyone who just wants to work towards the mount, but isn’t a good measure of anything performance related.
I dont care about the look. At all. The repetition of it all has finally gotten to me
KSM can be a personal achievement goal that can be rewarding for someone. It was for me. The difficulty is more in your random groups and not the dungeon itself.
A group that knows how to do Ruby Life Pools vs one that doesn’t is night and day.
In the grand scheme of things it doesnt mean much but who cares. Play for your own goals and your own satisfaction regardless of what other people think is easy or hard. Each person’s journey is different. Some people are not as good at video games and it may be harder to get Ksm. Big deal.
On the flip side, just because someone has Ksm doesn’t mea they know how to play. I joined a group yesterday with a 2500 evoker that didn’t know what a soulstone was… I quickly bailed.
I agree. It’s totally moot. I earn my KSM and AOTC’s. Many players, maybe even most, buy it via a couple WoW tokens or risking illegal transactions. Yesterday I matched the DPS of a geared KSH outlaw rogue, as a 390 Prot Warrior, and we could not kill Nerzhul on a +14 key because the group as a whole lacked the DPS. The rogue basically admitted he purchased his rating, and commented that he doesn’t pay for KSH so much as he pays to play with “competent players.” While I found him annoying, I do understand where he’s coming from to some degree.
It used to be you need to time all dungeons to +15 which I think is a better way on doing it than just having a score
I agree. They should change KSM to mean Keystone Middling, because in practice that’s what it means.
KSM never meant anything it’s just another grind AOTC and KSM haven’t meant anything ever because bussing is a thing, and you can get them being an entirely average players anyways. who cares move on.
get keystone hero without a bus and that’s kinda cool tho
I guess I thought it was always score but I never noticed procing it I just went after teleports.
Agreed. Finally got aotc on my prot pally and I have to say, all of these 2k+ mythic zoomers are underperformers when compared with players who focus on raiding.
Yup, went and pugged and RL AOTC since that takes more dedication then KSM. It’s also a lot easier to vet players with warcraft logs being a thing. Now I feel as if I don’t invite people with outrageous IO I get players that don’t know what buttons to press.
KSM never meant anything because the bar is way tf too low. People who have any worth as a player get this achievement the moment they’ve played one fort week and one tyran week. Even the current iteration of KSH is easy AF.
idk i’m pretty stupid and don’t have friends in the game so yea…
lol I have friends I play with but I pugged all of my timed 20s.
It doesn’t mean anything if you’re an AOTC raider and have the gear to push keys.
It means something to me because I am exclusively a PUG healer. I don’t do m+ with friends or a constant group. I’ve only cleared the raid on normal. Working my way up for gear and score takes time and effort. PUG healing especially as a non meta class is not that difficult but does take a lot of effort. The hardest part is getting disheartened from declines solely because of my class.
I understand that KSM seems like sort of a joke nowadays with people selling it, people outgearing through raiding and then doing keys, but lemme tell you the PUG world is rough out there. So I’m not gonna let anyone tell me that I didn’t truly earn ksm or it’s a joke. For you, Mr. AOTC, it probably is a joke. But to me and many other people that don’t play on that level, it still means something.
