Kruul needs HP nerf, NOW! (Mage Tower)

Just hit 100 attempts as Guardian druid. It’s now 2AM EST and I have some points to make.

  1. Legion we had proper gear/scaling.
  2. Completed this on Guardian and Vengeance in Legion.
  3. We had Luffa for the damage increase so that we can hit the bosses from far away.
  4. I hit 5th annihilate (enrage timer) every run, with 15-20k HP left on Kruul.
  5. The utter cheese that is going on is beyond disappointing. Mechagon trinkets, Timewalking trinkets, Old pots, Old Enchants? Are we seriously this far gone? Unless you happen to have either of those trinkets in your bank you’re just not completing? Scaling the scenario would’ve made much more sense.

I execute mechanics perfectly, have a pvp ilvl of 259 (scaled down of course) and still cannot get him sub 10k.

As someone who’s completed multiple other mage tower challenges, this one needs attention FAST.

Kruul for sure needs looked at, I did havoc easily enough finally but I still can’t get VDH one down. I just die to the 4th annihilate

Honestly my damage is fine I think, but I am dying to literally the second annihilate with cds up as prot. This crap is infuriatingly dumb.

what kills me is the VoDs I’ve watched it seems like people are literally just killing him in like 35 seconds…I’m like WTF is going on

Good god, that sounds like a dream. The 14 minute Discipline priest tower would like to have a word…

Right! my p2 in the tank tower on my best pull was around 7% and it seemed like it was a good 2 mins. The tank encounter as a whole done perfectly on VDH should take around 6.5-7 mins. I just cannot survive the 4th annihilate, seems even with nearly global perfect play rng can just mess ya up

Yeah blizz tuned it so you NEED to spend hundreds of thousands of gold on pots/runes/flasks/drums/gems/enchants until you’re almost as “geared” as you were on day 1 of mage tower launch.

I remember completing multiple mage towers the first week it was released and I was NOT geared by any means, considering I only PVP’d at the time and the entire loot table was RNG. People keep saying “oh you were in antorus gear and trivialized it” like bro :joy:

People forget that this was tuned with legendaries/artifact weapon in mind. I never even needed consumables back in legion, but now its mandatory?

It’s also completely unbalanced between specs. I completed enhance mage tower challenge yesterday and it was 100x easier than the same challenge as demo lock. I didn’t even know my rotation the first few attempts and downed Sigryn around attempt 30. They legit need to reduce Xylem’s health by 30-50% because if you’re not potting/lusting, you’re not making the DPS check. There’s no way blizz intended that since that’s not even skill based at that point.

But why? These are all perfectly farmable/craftable things, and we knew prior to tower release that we would want to have them. You could spend that much on the inflated market release day of the tower or you could farm some stuff casually a week prior (because really what other content is there atm) and not have to spend a dime.

I know prices right now are awful, but I guess next time around (personally too) I’ll be more prepared and actually get out of Oribos and fly around in circles finding herbs

Not only is his hp a problem, these infernals dropping down and when they instantly revive they INSTANTLY cast their smash and it’s just so stupid

Thats my point. The challenges should disable all enchants, gems, food, flasks, pots as it gives an advantage to those who have thousands of gold to blow and those who are prepared.

People who prepared in advance should not have the advantage in a challenge that should solely be based on skill alone.

If I can beat it on my enhance shaman in less than 30 tries on my first day ever learning the spec, with 0 flasks, enchants, etc, then I shouldn’t be required to do so to meet DPS check on Xylem as arms warrior.

Because consumables were actually balanced in legion. Unlike now where unbridled fury does way more damage than any other pot combined, while “coincidentally” being priced at 5k each.

we had consumables in the legion version why wouldn’t we have them now?

it definitely shouldn’t require a million consumables to even attempt it… you die so you lose out on runes ,food, patience to keep trying because you think you have a chance when you get destroyed on 2nd to 4th annihilate. so all that wasted gold and time for what? when they know it’s over tuned

But blizz is making money on tokens! win win

All of the bosses/adds need at least blanket 50% HP nerf across the board to be on par with legion difficulty.

Hello dream Grove. I wish you all would build A dam to stop the river of tears

Oh thank god, i thought i was just being bad as Demo, its nice to hear someone else thinks its hard. It doesn’t help that half the time it feels like the bosses are bugged.

imo you should be using that stuff to beat it regardless. The gold part is just something that is set by the game’s economy. People know you need it, so they’re taking advantage of it and cashing in.

if i apply basic economics to this scenarios, i would wait until the mage tower expires, then wait a while before demand falls (and with it the average cost), stock up on them, and then you get to have all your cheese gear ready for the next time the towers go up.

I’d agree that it does suck in that you’d have to wait a while before the towers are active again, but WoW economy be like that sometimes.

I wish everyone the best of luck.

Kruul is definitely insanely frustrating, took me about 80 pulls to kill it on a prot paladin and I had to cheese using the old flask and unbridled fury pot. Otherwise I don’t think I would have ever killed it. Definitely needs a nerf.

relax with this

Had legends tied in legion why not have them now?
