After getting to tier 6 on my warlock, I never thought I’d be doing the grind again, but I’m working on my hunter for 9.2. Anyway, I’m impressed with what I can buy from the archivist on alts. I can buy teleporter repair kits, rift keys, deathbound shard and sockets. I even had access to the sword shrines and the chest keys. I’m already at tier 3 after 1 day on Korthia. Blizzard deserves a little credit where credit is due.

How’d you do that? I’m clearly doing something wrong, because I’ve been 60 on my 'lock for a week and I’m only just now going to hit tier 3.

I used HandyNotes to collect most of the relics.

There’s no catch up for that. There was never a “catch up” for emperor’s rep either and that was PAINFUL.
as far as i know, theres no true cap on archivist rep grinding. Its just a matter of how much you like slaughtering everything in the zone every day.
Yeah, it is gated you can only get so much research per day.

well i stand corrected. i gotta ask, how many people actually hit said cap? For the most part i just saw me getting some relics while farming skins on my skinner and thinking: hey relic grinding could be fun but i’ll prolly never do it.
Though for sure, i’d be happy with uncapping things like mob grinding at this point in the patch even if i get the feeling odds are people will complain about having to grind korthia literally all day every day just to get trash gear.
Are you sure? I seem to get less and less the more I grind. I think there’s some kind of soft cap at around 1000 artifacts.

I leveled this character to tier 6, mainly to add my last socket, only to find that it was only usable on “Season 2 gear”, whatever that is. Fortunately, it was refundable.
They should have left the normal gear sockets for sale on Venari.

The cap on Korthia is quite low, actually. The max per day is:
4 Relic Gorgers
5 Mawshrooms
5 Nests
3 Mawsworn Caches
5 Bones/Relics/Stones
4 Riftbound Caches
15 “Purple Mobs”
That’s it. Apart from the Relic Gorgers (who don’t give a whole lot anyway), most of that is easy to do in like 20 minutes.
Korthia is a very fast rep, that’s why lots of us hit Tier 6 in July. The reason people think it takes a long time is because people were doing it wrong. They were obsessing over the dailies (which don’t even give Archivist rep as a base). They didn’t have their Grommits out. They weren’t doing the Riftbound Caches. They weren’t using fast access items across the zone like the Silver Shardhide whistle. etc. Even simple things like having the Shift+M mini-map up to show rare spawns make a huge difference.
