Last year everyone was leveled up to / de leveled to 60 and given equal gear levels to keep it fair and equal for everyone. Why is it not the case this time?
It’s a big disappointment this year (imo). Last time was fun to experiment with all the gearing options. You could compete at almost any level, and create different builds with old gear/gems.
Now if you’re below 110ilvl, you’re gonna get smacked
Yeah I’ve barely touched it this year, played like 4 matches before getting bored, haven’t been back ever since.
The average/typical game looks like this:

If playing Alliance you always end up getting GY-farmed at the Stormpike GY or “stuck”/trapped on the bridge. And if you are playing Horde well… it’s just way too easy Not fun either way imo.
Last year there were some actual competitive games and the goodies like free leveling made even the losses worthwhile, this year you have roughly the same # of afkers as before… minus all the free goodies.
It’s definitely been gutted compared to the 2019 event.
My experience has been completely the opposite with significantly more than 4 games played.
If anything, the absence of ridiculous XP has made the leeches largely disappear and the only real concern are Korrak killers.
My win rate as a largely solo player has gone from 42% last year to 63% this year. Many good games, including 3 where Ivus and Lok were summoned at the same time.

Seems you ignore the part about the scaling…lack of?
There have been awesome matches everyday …, last night one went on for 2 and a half hours . Mini bosses summoned and killed . And we somehow turned around a lost game with alliance completely in the horde base . The top Hunter had 6 million damage !!!
I joined mid way after 2 towers were burned and got 2 m damage . Would have got more but was stuck on defense and abused by 2 morons on top of everything because I asked ppl to recall ( enough did in the end )
Scaling doesn’t bother me because I never used Korrak’s as a way to level, but my new toons I’ve recently capped with don’t have any problem participating in Korrak’s Revenge.
There is always something to do; looting corpses, capturing objectives, killing summoners, mining resources, escorting wing commanders back to base or even simply being a road bump for the enemy by delaying them with snares, traps and knockbacks.
I have always disliked scaling backwards. It’s why I don’t do timewalking. I much prefer it if we scale upwards (to a reasonable level, of course - it’s not there right now for sure).
I can see it wouldn’t be fun for the levelers but as Bynir said it has led to better games as ppl coming into the game are there to play the game and not leech xp. So many alliance used to sit on top of the cave last year … haven’t see a single ally do that this year .
Somehow the winrates do not change even when alliance is not…
it sure feels like someone is getting their revenge
im not sure what we did to deserve the revenge though but im real sorry for whatever it was
Alliance is definetly doing better this year compared to last … even the alliance losses are hard fought out not just ppl rolling over by sitting on top of the cave .
The map is biased towards Horde so Horde will always win more all things being equal .
If you’ve seen me in KR, you have to admit, I put up a good fight. At least try to.
Dragon charge is my business and business is good.
