This place has been mostly a source of entertainment for me, although I do want the mount too. All 4 times I’ve been there we’ve won it so I guess I got lucky. However, one thing is clear: no one kills Korrack in there. I’m by now completely convinced that the best way to win is to just ignore everything and to just go kill boss. Anyway, here’s how it went:
1st time: Horde went straight to boss and zergd him it was a fast win.
2nd time: It was late for me but the damn AV went on for like 3 or 4 hours. All healers quit. People kept fighting over mines, alliance summoned the giant, people were all over the place, all healers except me quit but somehow at the end Horde got it together and went in to kill the boss. Idk what Alliance was doing.
3rd time: We pretty much went to the boss, however, Horde only had 1 tank and he wasn’t there, probably AFKing somehere, so we killed the boss with warlock tanking for 20 sec or so until he died and then ret pally tanking and then idk the boss died.
4th time: Horde was doing all kinds of random stuff, someone loud convinced everyone to go summon the Ice giant. Alliance pushed us all the way back. Summoning giants is stupid, go straight for the boss.
Yeah, the strat for Korrak’s Revenge has devolved to the typical AV strat. There is really no difference in normal AV and Korrak’s besides NPC strength, slightly alternate map and time, at this point. Maybe there needs to be more NPC defense at the towers to make smaller back-cap groups effective and encourage different strats other than zerg.
*UPDATE: Just did a Korrak’s that was anything but a regular AV. We were winning until people started crying over a wipe and gave up. The Alliance pulled out all the tricks and had elites everywhere, summoned the tree and ended up winning. It was a very long and sucky BG but, like I said, people want epic until they get epic. It only feels good if you win. Otherwise, enjoy the HKs.
Alliance kills Korrak. Not for quest. Because they have to.
Once the Horde starts taking graveyards, the Alliance is forced to rez with Korrak RIGHT ON TOP OF YOU!
Korrak killing/camping you 4-5 6 times is no problem. He hits like a truck.

you have no idea how much of a headache it is to convince people that Korrak should be left to rot in his hole . . . or to not go tame rams . . . I keep telling em killing Drek’thar gets em the ram faster but nooooooo “It’s Korrak’s Revenge” bah I say!

I’ve been having some fun, but I would have loved a new mount reward
Korrak always gets his revenge. His kill count must be astronomical.

As horde, we normally go in, and win the AV. Normally a win in like 20 minutes, last night someone convinced a bunch horde to go kill korrak, and the match devolved into a 2 hour stalemate because we were trying to push north as the alliance had a nonstop respawning wall of players >.>
As far as I’m aware (as I’ve never done it) you can go to Northrend and 1 shot Korrak there for the quest, so why do it in the AV and drag it all out?
I agree though, there really isn’t any point to this event, it’s pretty much just normal AV with some bonus side quest.
I have to disagree . . . its a great way to farm marks of honor for pvp ensembles for those of us who don’t pvp the rest of the year. Savin these babies for some shadowlands transmogs.
Oh I’m sure I’d have fun if I didn’t always get placed in an in progress loss…
I don’t care for pvp either, the fastest way I found to farm Marks of Honor is during Comp Stomp, 10 minute wins, can’t lose since it’s against bad bots, 1 mark per win (+5 for the quest, PER toon, yay alt army)
Sadly comp stomp is only around for a week once every 3 months (last one was Nov 2nd-9th, next one is Jan 25th-Feb 1st)
Korrak only subs for one month a year, so he has to get a year’s worth of kills done in about 4 weeks.

Sylvie, did you remake your character?
Excellent choice. Warriors are so much fun to play.
Well, that, but also… warrior is the first class on the character creation screen… if you read from left to right, like you should.

It was fun the first year where alliance were rewarded with levels for their losses.
Now its just horde base racing and being completely oblivious to how much of an advantage they have

What Korrack wants, Korrack gets!
