Ability/Loot Lag despite normal FPS and Latency

There is an ongoing issue with shard stability during times when the game population is high. Most frequently, this error will happen in Battle for Azeroth zones, or other places with recent world quests active (such as Warfronts). While there is no fix you can perform on your end, some players report that swapping between War Mode and Normal Mode can temporarily fix the issue, as it will place you in another shard which may be more stable. We understand that this is not an ideal solution, but it’s the most effective step we have available at this time.

We are actively working on fixing this problem with incremental improvements through game patches. Ion Hazzikostas addressed this topic in a WoW Q&A video.

If you are having this problem, please contribute to the thread for your region below:

Game Crashes on Launch on Windows 7 since 8.1.5

With patch 8.1.5, we added an updated version of DirectX 11. Windows 7 does not have access to the proper coding to run using this version of DirectX. Before trying other troubleshooting, enable DirectX 11 in Legacy Mode.

If this does not fix your issue, you can check our crash troubleshooting resources article for more help.

Black Screen on In-game Shop and “?” Help menu
Around the same time patch 8.2 hit, we noticed a number of players who were affected by an issue with the Razer overlay which caused the in-game shop and help menu to not display correctly. Razer has released a patch to their software to resolve this.

  • If you have or had a Razer device, uninstalling Synapse and reinstalling to the most updated Synapse 3 version should resolve the issue.
  • If you are getting black screens in either of these two menus and have never owned a Razer device, please see this article.

Nvidia Cards Unable to Use DirectX12 on Windows 7 since 8.3

Due to a compatibility issue with windows 7, World of Warcraft, and the latest Nvidia driver builds as of this writing, DirectX12 has been temporarily disabled on Turing/Pascal graphics cards for players on Windows 7. If you would like to use DirectX 12 on Windows 7, you will need to roll back to the last known stable driver (441.41) until a future driver is released which fixes the bug.

Texture Flickering Issue on Nvidia Graphics Cards after Driver 442.50
This is currently a known issue that is being tracked on this thread. Here are the following workarounds that we’ve seen help other players:

  • Switch to DirectX11
  • Disable or try other Anti-aliasing settings. MSAA x4/x8 seems to be the primary culprit.
  • Revert to 442.50 drivers.

Disconnections due to Guild Screen/Community Window
There have been reported issues of disconnections after opening or leaving open the guild window. This seems to occur more often with large guilds and with guild members with a higher rank. This issue has been reproduced on our end and has been escalated to our team to further investigate.

At this moment, there is no known workaround for the issue, but we are actively tracking and gathering reports on this thread.

Mouse Input & Camera Movement Issues After the Patch 8.3.7
There is currently a known issue that our team is investigating causing mouse and camera issues in the game. The current workaround is to disable the Raw Mouse input should help alleviate these issues. Enter this into the in-game chat:

/console rawMouseEnable 0

For updates and information on the mouse issue, we are actively monitoring and gathering reports on this thread.
