I am a vanilla player and I just came back to wow after quitting at the start of BFA (which I have done for the past expansions post cata) as I felt it was another lack luster expansion (I believe I wasn’t wrong there). So I came back as my friends and I talked about coming back to pvp (as that’s all we ever do). Currently we are grinding our way through mythics and doing world quests just to have some sort of chance to be competitive in pvp.
What happened? Why the grind all the time? Why the borrowed power from items? It’s been the same problem for so many years now. Time and time again decisions are being made without logic or thought. I have been watching a lot of videos about shadowlands (Preach Gaming, Bellular and Asmongold to name a few) and I see the same problems. I just want to play the video game without the constant checklist of chores to do.
To Ion, remember KISS? Keep it simple stupid. This couldn’t be more appropriate than now. I think you are the root and cause of the multitude or problems, from not listening to the community which know the game better than you do to implementing ridiculous systems.
PS: Some actual feedback. Maybe disable all corruption gear in pvp might fix some problems.
Umm no and no. Also that’s not what classic is for. I don’t want to raid and pve to be competitive. I want a pvp vendor. I want pvp gear to be BIS for PvP not people in PVE gear relying on numerous procs and requires 0 skill.
Maybe it’s time that you leave the game that you don’t like, rather than call for someone to lose their position, someone who is doing a good job, just because you don’t like the game.
/facepalm don’t you mean whats the difference between tentacles spawning and doing most of the dmg in arena? or twilight devastation? or any of the other corruption effects?
That being said, Ion has always struck me as a systems guy rather than a vision guy. And no matter your industry, those types can’t seem to see the forest for the trees when they get into a leadership role. I think he absolutely thrived as a raid developer.
The ‘community’ is a mob that can’t decide what they want in the first place, which is why, with some exceptions, most developers don’t actually really listen to their feedback unless they can see some merit to it.
As for playing the game. They do play the game. All the developers play the game. Ion is a top tier raider for crying out loud.
Still didn’t answer the question. You take the job of Ion. You strip out all the grinds, “borrowed power” (I will never forgive the person who came up with that term) and the chores. What do you replace it with? What does your endgame look like for the players?
Speak for yourself.
Sure, it had nothing to do with a myriad of other factors. It was just this one thing.
I don’t think we are playing the same game. Did you play back in vanilla up to cata? In regards to Ion playing the game, do you actually believe he does anything outside of raiding? Do you really think he logs in and does his daily chores and thinks to himself “boy I am having so much fun right now”
Oh? We arent complaining about Cata and MoP anymore? Wow. Who would have know from all the crap posts about them back in the day. “Worst expansion ever” was most of them.
You know what would be fun? To be able to actually just play the game. To not worry about grinding and leveling AP in legion and now HoA in BFA. It’s not fun it’s shouldn’t exist in the game. There is no need for it at all.
