King's rest locked out of 3rd boss, preventing progress

3rd Boss (The Council of Tribes)
We wiped once on the boss, ran back, but then the gate was still up, preventing us from retrying the boss.
We tried killing ourselves (multiple times) so we were all dead simultaneously, and then all running out so everyone was out of the dungeon. However when we ran back to the boss we were still locked out.

I have a screenshot but it won’t let me link it in the post. If it can be helpful as a visual example, let me know where i can send it.

Only thing left for us to try at this point was resetting the instance, but that just gave the key back and cleared our progress (as expected).

We were already clocking in at 1.5+ hours when we first got to the boss with 70 deaths, but we were still slogging out way through so we could get something out of it. Having the instance bugged out was really defeating and left us deflated after wasting all that time.

edit:idk why the post is by my shaman alt. The bug happened on my Preist, Xiaoyu-Dawnbringer. If that matters lol

Same just happened to us. I was the last one alive and managed to kill the 2nd guy right before I died. After that the 3rd one just stood there and we found no way to get the Council to reset. Its really disappointing to have to reset all your progress after spending over an hour in a dungeon and getting nothing out of it when you know you can beat it in the end.

Ya just did my 16 KR and we wiped on that boss and when we came back the door was locked we all died a few times try to get it to reset but nothing ever worked. Thanks Blizz!
