King's Honor - Alliance Warchief's Blessing Patch 1.13.7

What I also would love to see Blizzard also post about for patch 1.13.7:

With the upcoming changes to the world buff meta in Classic Era servers with the Chronoboon Displacer, there’s another aspect of world buffs we wanted to address and modify. One of the defining features of raiding in Classic has certainly been the prevalence of world buff stacking. So much so that the Alliance sneak in to the city of Orgrimmar, become brainwashed into believing themselves one of the Horde, and receive the Blessing of the Warchief so that they can feel strong defeating the enemies of Azeroth. To accomplish such a task generally requires multiple subscriptions and can be quite deadly to achieve, with the risk of making the act of gathering buffs even more time-consuming and content-distracting. All of which takes the player away from playing the game and having fun getting fun stuff done. So we are proud to say we are going to add another something new in the upcoming patch 1.13.7: King’s Honor.

What is it?

It’s the exact same buff as “Warchief’s Blessing” that Horde receive from completing the quest, “For the Horde!” in their Onyxia Attunement questline.

“Increases hitpoints by 300. 15% haste to melee attacks. 10 mana regen every 5 seconds.”

The exact same! But Alliance can get it, too! By being Alliance!

How does it work?

Do you have fond memories of visiting the keep maybe to queue for a battleground, to explore the depths of the keep, or because you fancied a chat with the queen SPOILER ALERT only to realize that the queen is Onyxia and you are suddenly brutally murdered by her guards, most likely while you were AFK in-game? Well, no longer shall you see the fruitlessness of such a quest for the rest of the resident population–your death was not in vain, friend! The escort quest, “The Great Masquerade” will follow up in to the quest, “For the Alliance!” after completion. You saved the king and revealed Onyxia! This deserves a great boon–a blessing I might say… of sorts–only the King’s Honor will do! And not only for you! BUT for the whole city and all those occupants residing within its walls! The King knows how to bless his people just as much or even maybe more than the Warchief himself!

Where do I get one?

Just the same as you would log in to receive the Rallying Cry of the Dragonslayer within the walls of Stormwind City, so would you receive the King’s Honor. When someone completes the quest, “For the Alliance” off its cooldown, everyone in the city will receive the buff after a short timer with a very-cherished and inspiring speech of the king to push you on to greater honors!

Why now?

We want Classic to be Classic, but must remember Classic is not Vanilla. Change happens, whether we like it or not, and as much as we must be cautious with changes, the fact that playing optimally literally requires the Alliance to not be the Alliance and also must purchase another subscription is all just too much for us to sit idly by. The King wants to show you the Honor you deserve and have earned being with the Alliance!

We hope you’ll all find this change as exciting as we do!

King’s Honor, Friends.

P.S. What icon do we like for the buff? Maybe the “Gift of the Naaru” icon that would come in to play in BC Classic Servers. Or maybe “Seal of Justice” paladin ability icon or “Pursuit of Justice” paladin talent icon. Or even a special never-before-seen icon crafted by those working on the Classic era servers? Feel free to leave a suggestion down below!

Counter suggestion: remove world buffs

Why do people always bring up Paladins when someone mentions the world buff disparity? You guys act like windfury doesn’t exist and the Alliance just get an extra class!

In terms of overall PvE raiding, WF <<<< Blessing of salv/kings/might/wisdom

Debatable, but even if it were true I can assure you that warchief’s blessing far exceeds any difference and doesn’t even begin to address the entire world outside of raiding. Leveling, farming, pvp, dungeons… yadda yadda.

I think you need to be acquainted with < WCB HORDE ONLY > on Firemaw for their response to your request

It really isn’t debatable, the clear times on wcl prove alliance have a massive advantage

Not really. Just like horde have the advantage on retail even though faction inbalance has been largely wiped out.

I don’t understand. Are you disputing the alliance advantage in classic raiding? Cuz that’s a 100 percent fact

I don’t think you’re clear on what a “fact” is.

20 of the top 50 guilds are horde. Especially when you account for social placing that really only proves that there’s no such thing

Nah I’m perfectly clear

The evidence would suggest otherwise

Who has the top clears in wcl ? No horde guild is contending for a top 5 spot on speedclearing and it’s not even close.

20 of the top 50 are horde. So about half of the top clears on WCL are horde guilds. I don’t know why that math is confusing you…

I don’t understand what is confusing about

Who cares about the top 5? So you picked an arbitrary number and you’re trying to use that as evidence of an enormous inbalance? That’s not how stuff works

80% of the guilds ranked 17-22nd are horde so like obviously horde are statistically better

It matters because the clear speed difference between the highest horde guild and the highest alliance guild is almost 7 minutes but keep sounding off
