I think the chicken spanking is alluding to another action that we shall call shake and bake. Some horde cultures also use monkey instead of chicken. Anywho you would break your hand faster than cooking the chicken.

Neither your hand nor the chicken would survive the single slap in one piece, so … that’s a distinctly sub-optimal meal preparation technique.
On the other hand (because you only have one at this point) the “thousands of slaps” idea is kind of the basis of friction stir welding.
