Kinda weird that people refer to Varok Saurfang as just "Saurfang"

It’s the last name. He shares it with Broxigar. But nobody calls Brox that

he has another titles
high overlord
cleave master
also op got cleaved for calling saurfang by his first name

It’s what he prefers to be called, I asked…his smoking corpse. It said yes.

No one calls Thrall, Go’el, and Blizz really tried to get that one to catch on for a bit.

It’s funny how one of his click lines was “i am Saurfang, brother of Broxigar”

Like, he was Saurfang too. Broxigar Saurfang.

There’s only one living Saurfang left, their niece. She is also the current wielder of the Axe of Cenarius, the only weapon that ever wounded Sargeras.

Lord and savior?

Maybe he’s senior to his brother or something.

I’m pretty sure brox was older.

I prefer Lincoln over Abraham.

More to our characters: it could have been Varok Saurfang was first and other characters built up around him.

Because most people refer to Broxigar as “Broxigar the Red”. Varok was always “Saurfang the Elder” to differentiate him from his son. As far as we know though, by the time he met Sylvanas at the gate, he was the only Saurfang left so calling him by that isn’t inappropriate.

Ok, so apparently there is a niece. I didn’t know that lol. I doubt she’d be going by “Saurfang” though so again, I think it’s appropriate to refer to him that way.

That’s because he’s the only Saurfang that matters.

How can you say that being a DH lol.

The Aldrachi warblades that your tank spec had as artifacts also wounded sargeras and even drained some of his power.

That’s because Kal’el was rocking the name first. :stuck_out_tongue:

And how in the seven hells did she get ahold of that?!

Only an Avatar, iirc.

Cenarius made it for Broxigar 10,000 years ago, when he was accidentally sent back in time to the first legion invasion. Cenarius enchanted it the power of Kalimdor itself, and it was sharper than any mortal forged axe, it was lighter than a feather and Brox said that it felt like an extension of his being.

When the war of the ancients reached its head, and Malfurion was desperately trying to close the portal at the Well of Eternity. Broxigar leapt in, axe in hand, to delay the coming of Sargeras, and landed the first scratch Sargeras had ever received since the dawn of existence. His sacrifice gave Malfurion enough time to close the portal with Sargeras still between the entrance and exit, thus causing his physical form to be lost between worlds.

The only piece of Broxigar to return was the Axe, which was taken back to the present day by Korialstrasz and Rhonin, and presented to Thrall along with the story of what had happened. Thrall then presented the axe to his niece, when she came of age, as the elder shaman had seen visions that she would be the one to inherit it.

Nope, Sargeras himself. That’s where we learned he actually liked going around challenging champions of races.

“Go’el”. Lmfao. What a name . No wonder it never caught on.

You ever wonder why these godlike entities never make more of these incredible weapons for others? Like, I get why he doesn’t just hand them out all willy nilly, these weapons probably take a lot of effort to make, and even if they were simple handing em out to everyone is just asking for trouble, but…

Why doesn’t he make a bow for Tyrande? Or an enchanted staff for Malfurion? Or various weapons for the various other proven allies there has been in the 10000 years since he handcrafted a godly axe for some random orc that appeared out of nowhere slaying demons? Surely it’s not a case of make one weapon and you’re done forever, right?

Pretty sure thrall called him varok
