I get declined 9-10 times before I get into keys and I just got KSM and am 612 Ilvl. Hes not special. There are thousands of people doing keys at any given time.
ffxiv is fairly balanced and even it isnāt perfectly balanaced and jobs are extremely streamlined. No specs, no builds, no gameplay loop. Everyones hould be playing identically at end game every step. Endgame is more like a choregraphed dance then a chaotic fight.
Iām a little confused on why someone would be willing to tank but wouldnāt just build their own group?
I guess if you just want to fill some vault slots and donāt have a key it could make sense.
These threads arenāt going to change the reality of meta being the norm for most of gaming⦠if there is any competitiveness at all, there is a meta. The people making the groups decide who getās in the group⦠get over it, make your own groups, reroll to meta or be patient.
Iām with you, kill the meta with fire, let people play whatever class/spec they want! Play what YOU (the player) find fun, not what be pigeonholed into a class/spec that you hate just because it does 5% more dps or healing.
I totally support this action
I donāt think so, if I have a caster-oriented group Iād want a DH, if I have a heavy physical comp with a monk healer Iād want the warrior because of battle shout.
It is not always as black and white as you try to picture as is.
But yeah, Paladins are not meta, people want to maximize their chance of success, and they will go with the meta as it is an easy pick.
Can it go wrong? Yeah, definitely, but then it can also go wrong with the good player but bottom tank.
Imagine buying a ticket to travel and youāre offered a First class for the same price, would you say āIām not first class slave!!! Iāll go economic! Iād even pay more for economic if needed!!ā ??? I donāt think so.
Why donāt you show me your statistics for this season, how many ābreak the metaā runs did you do? How many pally tanks did you invite?
At the end of the day, he can always run his own key, I bet there will be at least 20 DPS and between them 1 dps that is not meta that will post on reddit saying that āIāve 610 ilvl 1800 rating and yet being declined for keysā.
Youāre never going to have 100% perfect balance. However you can absolutely kill metas. Metas are meta for a reason in that they work well. You kill metas by bringing everything else up the level of the current meta. So long as stuff is within 5% youāre good. Problem is some companies want to kill metas by nerfing into the ground which just pushes toxic metas and punishes people for daring to have fun. Nerfing in those instances should only ever be reserved for cases where there is such a disparity that there is no other option.
