Kill off thrall

A key point to being a Mary Sue is the character is often young and has more experience/talent/power than they should have. That is literally where the term came from.

Thrall is not young.

Thrall has had extensive training.

I’m not sure I’d class that as saving the day.

Considering that Thrall has been outclassed by Velen, Anduin, Malfurion, and DEFINITELY JAINA, I think he needs a power boost.

He is the only Horde leader with any kind of strong magic ability. Baine is a warrior, Saurfang is a warrior, Gallywix is a pilot, Lore themar is a ranger, Sylvanas is a dark ranger / banshee. Thrall is our only strong representative for magic / elemental power.

Against the World’s strongest priest, the world’s strongest druid, the world’s strongest mage, and plot armor Anduin, Thrall is the only one that might stand a chance.

Who says you get the chance?

IN that case so is Varian seeing how Metzen voiced both him and Thrall

Yeah… lets kill off MORE horde leaders… That’s good story right there.

Well you got shot down pretty quickly with your open challenge.

An example of a Mary Sue would be Rey from Star Wars.

Na, I am good with Thrall. He looks like a beast now. I want to see what he is going to do. If anything, I was hoping for Anduin to get knocked out by Jaina. I see how Jaina turned a new leaf, but she should still hate the Horde for what they did to Theramore. Now we have a mad Night Elf Priestess that hates the Horde. These characters seem to just hate and then forgive. Does not make sense to me.

Well the Warcheif is just one boss character: Garrosh and Vol’jin. 2 died. Carine died. So, 3 boss characters died. 1 betrayed.
Wait a minute: Vol’jin is coming back. So you only had 1 Warchief killed. This is not even now. :grinning:

Alliance: Arch Bishop Benedictus, Arch Druid Frandral, and King Varian. So, 3 boss characters died. 2 betrayed.

Actually we have had the same amount of character lost. Except Vol’jin is actually being brought back. So there is an inequality, now.

Alliance: Arch Bishop Benedictus, Arch Druid Frandral, and High King Varian.

Horde: Garrosh, Vol’jin, and Carine. Scratch out Vol’jin, because he is being brought back as a Loa.

thall was not old when he pulled off alot of things. no where on the internet has it said that thrall has had anykind of training.

I know youre mad but thrall is a mary sue its just a fact.

You still trying to say thrall is a Mary Sue?

Your factually wrong. End of story.

If you think Thralls a Mary Sue, then you don’t know what a Mary Sue is.

Thrall was mentored and trained to fight by Orgrim Doomhammer. (That is how he got the Doomhammer) and he was trained in Shamanism by Drek’thar after he discovered his lineage as a member of the Frost Wolf clan, and later again by Aggra so he could step in as the World Shaman

Thrall only got negative light shed on him when he was empowered by the Aspects for like, a third of an expansion so he could wield the Dragon Soul. He was also the first faction leader that both sides ever had to work with (even though he left the Horde in order to do so.) and Alliance still can’t let it go.

It took me 30 seconds to find this:

It was some time after that choosing that he was called away by Drek’Thar, and came upon a quiet place where he had never been or seen before. Here he was to be initiated.

In one of the most spiritual experiences of his life, Thrall befriended the spirits of Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and the Wilds. He became the first new shaman since Gul’dan’s vile corruption of the Horde.

Dunno about you, but that sounds like ā€˜training’ to me.

again no where does it say ā€œtrainedā€ or does it describe anything about how he was trained. just that sentence says mary sue all over it. ā€œhad a spiritual experiance, befriended the spirits of earth, air, fire, water and wilds. instantly became a shaman.ā€

what it sounds like to me is thrall was taken into a cave, meditated or something and instantly became friends with all the elements. then walked out of the cave as the most powerful shaman. that is the definition of mary sue.

Your grasping at straws, he was specifically taken there by Drek’thar.

It was describing the experience he had there, under the tutelage of Drek’thar.

Drek’thar was present, what do you think he did? Just stand there?

Your trying to purposely slam a square peg a round hole, because you want to say Thrall’s a Mary Sue, when he’s specifically not.

Also, thrall did not just 'walk out of the cave the most powerful shaman" that’s not implied anywhere…

you should really stretch before you try to reach that hard, your going to ruin your back.

The misuse of Mary Sue by this community continues.

you’re the one who is asumeing things happened when in the lore it doesnt say. so its either poor story writing or its up for interpretation.

you keep saying over and over hes not a mary sue. yet you provide to evidence other wise.

did drek thar just stand there, i dont know does the lore describe what he did to train thrall?

thrall is the most powerful shaman, yes or no.

walking into a cave then walking out as the elements best friends is a very mary sue thing.

Vol’jin still killed. Vol’jin still not a warchief.

Arch Bishop Benedictus, Arch Druid Frandral weren’t faction/racial leaders.
