I am leveling a Marksmanship Hunter and for the utility I like having a pet out, as opposed to going Lone Wolf.
However, I cannot figure out why I would ever take the “Kill Command” talent. It provides very slightly more range than Arcane Shot but has way less bang for the buck. Worse, Kill Command is, at my current level, on a 6 second cooldown, while Arcane Shot has no cooldown.
As far as I can tell, Kill Command is useless for Marksmanship and would be detrimental to cast instead of Arcane Shot. Am I missing something? Does it ever become useful, such as maybe a proc I don’t have yet?
The only scenario I could imagine it being useful is if I’m in a battleground situation and trying to finish off a target whos is fleeing / trying to get out of range, but that is a very specific use case.
It’s just another one of blizzards favorite things to do to class abilities.
First, make something a talent. But make it terrible.
Then, no player picks it because it’s terrible.
And then, Blizzard will say “our analytics show no player ever picked this talent so we just removed it/made it baseline for X spec”
So instead of making it actually good or fun for people, they make it crap, do nothing, and then act like they are listening to the players when they give up because they are too lazy to work on it.
it’s because they made the 1-10 leveling spec agnostic. there was a point where people on the forums were upset that they were an destruction warlock over a warlock—so each class has spec agnostic abilities that are just baseline to the spec. it has nothing to do with pick rates.
