Didn’t Baine defeat Magatha during the Grimtotem Rebellion? And didn’t several factions of Grimtotem actually ally with the Alliance during Cata? You literally are trying to replace Baine with the one character he has actually beat down himself, who leads the only Tauren to officially join the Alliance (even if temporarily)?

Elementary, my dear Droite. Clearly Erevien here is a closeted Alliance fan and wants to play it himself. Why else would he replace the Horde Council with objectively less powerful characters? To make the Horde weaker in comparison to the Alliance he so loves!

Baine is Alliance. He exists to support the Alliance. He is not in any way Horde. It’s time to remove the Alliance from the Horde.

Baine has a rule of cool problem, like Lor’themar does. Both of them were reduced to plot devices in BFA, and in SL, Baine is a joke. At this point they probably could just put Baine out of his misery.

Sigh, Baine has two major problems going for him.
You are right that he is a plot device, a “Token Good Horde”. With his personal characterization needs almost always coming after the stories needs for him. Which is why the only relevance he’s likely to find in the land of the dead is within Anduin’s story, as his role as that token has rendered him little more than an accessory to purity itself in the Boy King. The other problem is, like Lor’themar, Baine is the main rep of a group of people who never get stories written for them for him to represent. Which renders both of them (and others) without Races to actually be Racial Representatives of, and thus are just used for story convenience.
On a conceptual level, WHO Baine is on paper doesn’t bother me nearly as much as HOW he’s used by the writers. As well as the fact that in his current iteration, he is very much a perfect symbol for the current Horde in its current iteration. “A worthless, weak, plot-device who’s own characterization needs are always thrown aside for the stories need to use them”. No wonder Blizz always tells us he’s our “Best” and “Heart”.

I love how you want Kael’thas and Sylvanas and Zul’jin and Magatha and Garrosh in power, all people who would hate each other so profusely that the faction would splinter.
Which makes sense because you obviously want to play Alliance, so you’re just trying to subterfuge us.
