Got my Horde Hunter level 1 named StunResistLol locked in and ready to go.
They’re already doing stuff in SoD like giving out +5 weapon skill to other races, that was normally limited to Humans and whatnot.
They 100% could have changed racials a long time ago, but won’t for whatever reason.
Personally, I think all racials should just be flavor/cosmetic, nothing related to player power whatsoever.
It would solve so many problems, you can’t point to one faction and say they’re better at PvP/PvE for example.
No longer would people blame the faction or the race, it’d come down to the player instead.
Racials have been a ‘problem area’ for WoW since inception. Remember all the Undead Rogues immune to fear? What if it wasn’t only them?
In a game where there are two factions, players will always point to anything as the reason why the other faction is better. That faction has better racials. That faction has better flight paths. That faction has better spawn points in pvp. That faction has better access to quest items. That faction’s raid attunement is easier.
It’s just a bunch of nonsense that doesn’t account for anything meaningful.

How exactly does making an entire races racials completely useless by giving it to every other race mean nothing? If it meant nothing then why wouldn’t you just advocate for sharing Alliance Racials as well as Horde Racials also being shared?

I really think the racial thing is common ground for 99% of players, as in hordes being flat out better.
It used to be a disparity between PVE and PVP tho, but not anymore.

This is just something players have convinced themselves of. It was never true even in original vanilla.

How dare you get unique bonuses depending on your race. How dare they add flavor the game like that.

Not accounting for anything meaningful doesn’t equal they don’t matter. This is a bad faith complaint thats existed for 20 years. I don’t want to be rude but how many years do you want to argue about something that has no meaningful impact?
Racials don’t determine if you clear raids. Racials don’t determine if you win in pvp. racials don’t mean you get stomped by players worse than you. The overall impact of racials in the game is very minor. They are useful and fun to add flavor to the game, but they are not impactful enough to make a significant impact on your play experience.
You can still kill a tauren that war stomped you. You can still kill an orc t hat resisted your stun. You can still kill a nightelf that dodged you. A troll can berzerking you and you can still beat him.
The complaints about racials are just nonsense.
I stopped reading after this statement because it literally makes no logical sense. That actually is EXACTLY what it means. It does matter about racials, they are MEANINGFUL and they DO Impact the game.
Obviously they impacted the game enough for Horde players to cry about not having +Two handed Sword skills.
How much have the Alliance Gnomes had to spend on FAPs for Thermaplug this phase?
Racials are situational. Sometimes just doing more damage isn’t the most helpful thing to have.
And reserve judgment on Human Rep racial till we’re grinding stuff like Thorium Brotherhood, not crates for 1k rep a piece.
Think about it. Why was the troll 5% more damage to beasts racial not changed until halfway through mists of pandaria? The damage bonus is so minor when the numbers are small that it doesn’t make a significant impact. You want to complain about racials then do it on a version of the game where it actually makes a difference.
Absolute CAP. Do you realize having more overall DPS makes bosses easier in general? This is why being in a speed run or a run with people doing 500+ dps in Gnomer literally feels like you don’t need to do mechanics.
