Kicked from M+ at 99%

I was in a M+; we had killed all 4 bosses. The group removed me when we were at 99% trash. I got credit for completing the instance, but of course did not get a chance at the items in the chest. Frankly, this should be a banable offense, it’s a clear exploit of game mechanics to improve the chance at loot for the remaining members and to grief the player that was removed.

If there was loot for you in the chest, it’d appear in the mailbox. And of course you still get credit for completion.

So there’s actually no reason to kick people like this.

Pretty sure you can troll people out of the loot if you kick them before trash is completed or tagged at 100%, but if they hard d/c it seems to be different than just being kicked, ive seen a run where the dude pulled his plug or something and still got loot.

You can’t.

If they are they are there when the key is put in and you complete the dungeon they get the same chance at loot as everyone.

M+ loot does not go to mailbox.

I accidentally clicked a mage portal cast over the chest and a GM said bad luck.

The sheet things ppl do.

The azerite power does not get mailed but if you got loot it should have showed up.

I’ve gotten m+ loot in my mailbox so yes it does.

Today on one sided stories out of context.

If you’re sitting silent as an angel this generally doesn’t happen. Also important (and telling that you don’t understand) the entire group doesn’t have to want you gone, just whoever has PL.

That isn’t the case anymore. You don’t get loot from completed mythic plusses that removed you anymore. They changed this in 8.1

That said, there is still no reason to kick someone because this doesn’t increase the chances for anyone else. The gear is still divided between 5 people and if it WOULD have gone to you it just disappears.

Source? Because I was in a run with a tank who made hot garbage seem amazing that bailed before the last boss. We just zoned out and had someone swap specs and tank the last boss. Upon looting the chest we were 1 item short of what should have been there and this was this season. Anecdotal I know, but I haven’t seen any confirmation of a blue post stating they’ve changed the system.

Read the next paragraph. There is no incentive to kick them because you don’t get the loot they should have gotten. It just disappears now.

Again, source? That seems like a change that would have been very clearly documented and I can’t find anything to support that.

People are jerks but you should of gotten anything mailed to you

Is spite no longer an incentive? Deliberately denying someone of loot just because is something that has always happened in this game.

Spite is the best reason haha.

Yeah but without a gear incentive spite kicks are fairly rare, and generally earned

This. You can’t jerk-proof any system, and usually, trying causes far more problems than just making the best system you can and accepting the isolated incidents as an unavoidable part of coexisting with people.

Yes it does. I don’t believe your GM comment either considering the few times this happened to me the only thing they asked for was the name of the item, the day it happened and roughly the time.

Of course you can. Which is why the system mails you loot even if you get kicked in the middle of a boss fight or (previously) M+ run. To foolproof against jerks.

So you wouldn’t consider it a jerk move for someone to do enough of a M+ to get everyone invested, lightly afk a bit to make sure the group is able to 4 man, and leave early to go do it again? The system is jerk proof, so that must not be jerk behavior, right?
