Kicked for typing /brb in a dungeon

Why is it called Cataclysm Classic if it has the same tryhard speedrunner elitists from Retail?

I typed /brb after a few pulls as top dps and I only took about 30 seconds to come back and I was kicked and got 30 minutes of desertion.

I already hate Cataclysm enough as it is, why do pugs have to make it all the more unbarable by expecting you to never have a real life, speedrun, and live up to their high standards?

Maybe they have limited time and your hindering them? Ever consider that? Why do people have to conform around you?

You must have missed since classic vanilla where “hardcores” took over the game with a stopwatch.

sometimes it’s better to just do something and ask for forgiveness after the fact.

honesty upfront is what did it for you. Had you just said nothing, you would’ve been just fine.

Right, because the 4 other people who kicked you for going AFK in a dungeon also dont have real life stuff to get back too. They dedicated the 20-30 mins it takes to run a dungeon. Maybe any longer then that 20-30 mins is too long and will force them to have to stand up. Don’t join the Queue if you dont have the time to play. Should of Followed someone and prayed they didn’t notice you AFK. Quicker to get a new DPS then wait 40 seconds for the old one to come back.

If you were legit only gone for 30 seconds, maybe you should have just not typed “/i brb”.

I cannot speak for the reasons the party members in that group initiated a vote to kick nor why it passed, but when I saw this post it reminded me of a huge pet peeve of mine, which is someone (a tank specifically, or sometimes a healer – though I do not recall ever seeing this) who accepts a dungeon finder queue and immediately say BRB. If it is just a DPS, you can just pull as per normal.

I think thats your problem right there…

I feel like this is a joke. If someone just /brb’d out of nowhere I’d probably kick them too

There have been several times throughout my years playing this game where I’ve had to step away from a dungeon for one reason or another, sometimes for several minutes, and I’ve never been kicked for it. How? I talk to the party. “Hey sorry I’ll brb just a sec”

Yeah the vote kick system is abused a lot. I’ve experienced a lot of frustrating crap in that regard. But it’s a necessary evil to have that system in place though.

Must have been whitemane or faerlina players. I automatically leave anytime i see more than 1 faerlina person in the group i would rather sit 30 mins on my tank and play an alt.

See this is a faerlina player attitude.

The sad reality now is you never type in a LFG pug. Nothing. Even hello will get you kicked.

Most of the players are bots and they are programmed to vote yes 100% of the time. You need to just blend in with the bots.

Put someone on /follow next time

It might be, but that sort of divisiveness is unpleasant. Faerlina, like every server has a blend of individuals who have their own preferences and play styles.

You deffeintly needed to be kicked just because you where the top dps for a few pulls. then decided you would leave does not mean your safe. These runs take 45 mins with geared players. and you are a dps which is replaced instantly its better to kick you and get a replacement then wait any longer then 5 seconds.

My last Deadmines run only took just under 36 minutes. And that’s including a wipe because the tank forgot he was trying to tank in full dps gear. I’m not sure what you are doing wrong for yours to take 45.

And I don’t know if mine was a geared run because the only other person I knew in the group was the healer.

Sounds like you had geared players ive been in some long VC runs. Got stuck in a guild group in 346 ilvl and i was doing more damage then the dps as a tank!!!

Well I was doing more damage than both an arms warrior and a survival hunter as a frost dk, so it couldn’t have been too geared.

Lol they just might be bad. I had a 372 lock in my group and my mage is 359 (old main before swapping to feral) and i was doing more damage then the full bis lock.

Well there you go, a bad group did Deadmines in 35 mins.
