Kicked for defending someone

So I’m leveling my alt today doing AA. One dude gets blown off and is running back and the people in the group kick him for that and say he DC’d, when he was clearly running back. This was a lower level dungeon and just kick for now reason without asking.

I proceed to defend the guy and say that is pretty messed up kicking someone that clearly wasn’t afk. After we finish the next boss they kick me for simply stating how messed up that is… Am I in the wrong for speaking out about that? Since when can you do multiple kicking in a row like that. Seems pretty abusive to me.

You aren’t in the wrong, but people just want to get the dungeon and over with. Which can you really blame them? But they could’ve gone about the issue in a much more mature way.

They may have kicked me to chatting too much as well. I said a couple words before that, could have annoyed them. Who knows.

Certainly is and people that do it should receive suspensions. Blizz needs to majorly overhaul their CS/QA.

No.

You were playing in a group with one new guy and three people who either know one another or are willing to be jerks.

They doubled-down on their jerkery and got rid of you both.

Don’t spend a lot of time upset over it. It wasn’t you. It was them. You can’t force people to be nice in an open online space. Don’t stop being a nice person just because they were mean.

You did nothing wrong. You have no recourse. It is what it is.

And this is why people don’t like the idea of dungeons being a requirement for some things in the game.

Oh well, you’ve met three jerks in a game that’s on the internet. Ignore them so you never get grouped with them again. Why stress over something as minor as this.

You weren’t in the wrong. Those people were just mean. Sorry that happened to you

I’ve been there. Dont let it bother you even a little bit. Prolly some kids who were friends enjoying some power.

Morally you were right but if you wanted to finish the dungeon you were wrong and shoulda kept quiet until last boss dead … Blizz made a system that can and is abused daily

You are not wrong, but this is the WoW community and this is what you can expect from it.

They just kicked a guy for running back, and you outed yourself.

Lesson learned, hopefully.

Yeah, you got kicked for being rude, not for standing up for anyone.

As others said you weren’t wrong if all you did was defend him. I really think the vote kick system needs a minor overhaul to make it less likely to be abused by people who kick for stupid things like people running back, or heck even no reason at all. The least they could do is make getting kicked less punishing since you also get stuck with a 30 minute debuff.

Groups are allowed to kick for any reason the majority feels is worthy of a kick

Even if that reason is “we just don’t want you in the group”

Yeah so basically 3 friends can que a dungeon and just keep vote kicking by majority anyone who joins and the ones who get kicked get punished with a 30 minute debuff so they cant que again.

Sounds pretty messed up to me

I got kicked out of a guild for “spamming guild chat” because I was answering questions asked in guild chat. The people I was answering in guild chat started whispering me. They had like 20 people quit.

I fully agree.

Rest assured it wasnt kids either. American males aged 25-45. I can barely stand to be in a room with them for more than a few minutes, lol

Ill never understand the incessant need by low lvl dungeon runners to IMMEDIATELY kick someone if they die or go afk like seriously.

I was tanking on an alt and the healer refused to heal me because i was top dps & clearly a dps tank , not that warriors need heals at low levels in Dragonflight.
