I thought kickbotting was a thing of the past
single function scripts never went away really, just usage went way down around the time honorbuddy users were getting banned a lot
so not a thing of the past ever
agree that script usage in general seems signficantly up in percentage of cheating players you run into these days
it is not just kick botting either, includes auto counter moves and kick avoidance scripts
I personally assign the blame to pvp being the fastest way to 226 gear if you can get wins, so there is an abnormally large amount of player motivation to get rated wins and 2100 in pvp - thus the huge increase in carries and cheating
there is a sizeable chunk of players who feel they can’t get good gear any other way and are done playing if they can’t get it, so to them the risk of losing their account barely matters
Happened to me too
What??!?!? That convoke was terrible and predictable.
The player was bad and should feel bad.
He was afk, which is why I convoked but his kickbot still went off. If you look closely you can see that he wasn’t even targeting me. I have another video of him doing it earlier in the match as well. You’re bad.
You got a longer video to show that he wasn’t just sitting there waiting to press it?
Yes I’m bad.
That makes two of us.
Seems questionable. The SP does seem to be AFK. He doesn’t use any offensive abilities. He has a shaman targeted but could be using focus or a mouseover silence. So, questionable but not definitive.
Yes. Here you go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHx_BXpDT4I
You can see him standing there right at the very start of the video.
Here’s another clip from the same bg, Please note that he is currently attacking someone with a mind blast when he instant kicks my convoke https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0P4G7F8JTM
I would just have a focus target macro for any boomie in my arena.
I think he just has a very good gaming chair.
I’ve noticed on my boomkin suspicious interrupts in a few Rated/ random Battlegrounds-- 50% of them maybe just really good macro work and response time-- 50% no doubt had to be some kind of script program… as it is just super obvious. i recommend playing a convoke boom as convoke is enemy #1 on those scripts i imagine.
I have been saying this for past week. I just started maybe 2 weeks ago and in BGs constantly being interrupted by people not targeting me in huge fights. Talking about not even a second into convoke. Scripting is difinitly back.
Hrm, I can swap target to a balance druid and interrupt a convoke in under a second. I don’t doubt there are people doing it, but I can honestly say that I haven’t experienced anything that I would personally consider botting in SL so far (except for some pathing bots in Ashran that feed the enemy team kills on the road).
To be fair, I almost ALWAYS have my silence/stun ready to go the moment I see a druid come out of stealth. It’s become painfully obvious when one is going to come out with a convoke. I’ve sniped convokes many times right as their 1st tick goes off and only get better at it once I start learning to look for the local pally popping concentration aura XD
That is botting not scripting. I can easily tell people are doing it. It feels like WoD. Sorry my man, I really doubt in a big team fight you can switch to a druid you are not even targeting and stop the convoke in less than a second. I mean average person would take almost a second just to see it going off. Someone posted a video of someone scripting somewhere on forums yesterday I think. It definitely is back. There are so many more players doing PvP, scripting is going to be used. Just now I had a pally 4/4 stop the convoke almost instant in every team fight and he was not even targeting me. Then add he was top damage by a crap load, never past 1550/1500 in rated play. A top end player I might say could catch them all in a big team fight. A low end player getting 4/4… That is a script. Scripting is back for sure
Hrm, I feel that I am being slow if I don’t switch and interrupt it in a second or under. I can see the orange nameplate. What’s hard is if they come out stealth behind you offscreen.
However, just because I haven’t personally experienced anything “fishy” on my druid doesn’t mean it’s not happening.
Not to derail your topic or discussion, however if you are even remotely aware of what convoke does and not just casually faffing about, you are keeping your eye on the boomie. If you come out of stealth and are immediately interrupted, that’s probably a bot. If you’ve been standing there and someone interrupts you as you start casting, it’s entirely possible it was an @mouseover or @focus macro.
Interrupt isn’t on the GCD, meaning there is virtually no lag between button press and kick.
As a boomy main I can see a convoke coming a mile away whenever I’m playing my spriest.
That is an obvious bot/script aka cheating. Lol at people saying that in a Random Battleground the SP would have a kick saved and ready for just the convoke yet allow himself to be taken down to half XP and not react to any other spells
I guess ignorance is bliss, sucks people like that break the game for others
Sounds like an excuse to me.
There are cast bars above unit frames and I’m sure most people know what focus macros are. Also why are you convoking in melee range?
