Kick never gets abused i've been corrected

hi everyone,

Haven’t posted in ages, i have an observation to make and im wondering if some have experienced the same, please be aware i am not complaining, just a major concern that it should maybe looked into.

In recent past i’ve noticed that whenever a group of 3 join a 5 man pug, i primarily heal or tank, for hte most part its okay… i mind my own business, no chatting just spam heal no wipes, tank all good… for some reason whenever i encounter these groups of 3 people from the same realm and so far from the same region of the world, they kick for no reason,

before someone say, i was the problem this and that, i could even provide proof of my last run, meters are great, no one died, i didnt even say 1 word.

before the last boss BOOM im booted from the group… im left with… wth just happened.

i’d be fine and move on, but when you get a deserter when you’re booted from a group, it just leaves a very bad taste… and slowly but surely this toxicity is getting me closer to unsubbing.

something’s gotta give… when did blizz become so militant with the deserter? now im stuck waiting 30mins for being randomly booted for no reason.

Vote kick abuse has never happened, the forum people will be here shortly to tell you how you deserved it and nobody has ever been unfairly kicked.

Do people not realize that if it’s a group of 3, the 4th person in the group has to vote yes too?

Literally the entire group wanted you gone lol.

im sorry thats not true, most people just click yes to move on… in some cases sure. but i swear if i could show you a vod of it. you’d be going WTH just happened?

They can click ‘No’ and just move on all the same lol.

Yes, the rest of the group, all 4 of them, wanted you gone.

then why in some instances, where i’ve been with a friend, they have been booted and i didnt get to vote?

Because it only required 3 since it wasn’t a pre-made group.

If you join a group in which three players are queuing together, you need the fourth non-premade to agree in order to kick the fifth (you in this case) player.

It is unlikely that there wasn’t a reason for it, if this even happened at all. Most likely this didn’t and this is just another thread pretending that vote kicking can be abused. It, per definition, cannot be abused. It runs on a democratic vote and, in the case of premades being involved, a super majority or unanimous vote.

Stop parroting other threads trolling these forums with stuff that, per definition, ain’t possible in the game. No, you cannot control the vote kick in the way ya’ll like to pretend when there’s a premade in the group and no you cannot abuse the vote kick.

lots of assumptions there but sure, i have no choice but to accept it. there was still no reason to kick me other than to troll me

Clearly everyone else felt differently lol.

yup clearly.

First, there is no such thing as kick abuse. Groups have a right to boot someone for any reason if they don’t want that person there. It could be DPS too low, pulling too much, unable to keep up on healing, or they just don’t like you. You have no right to make people keep you in a group.

You say you were kicked once by them, yet you’ve mysteriously seemingly seen these same 3 people more than once but only now it’s an issue? Which is it dude? Second, a group of 3 in a premade team can’t kick without the consent of the 4th person. This means that the 4th person didn’t want you there either for whatever reason. While you can provide meters and DPS from a previous run, that’s irrelevant to the one you were kicked from.

I’m going to ask the obvious questions. Was anything said in group chat by anyone at all? Did you guys have any problems prior to the kick? Did anyone say anything after? Also what is your evidence they kicked for the lulz? Because I’ve seen far far too many like yourself coming on here complaining about being kicked, but not a single one of you has provided a shred of evidence of a massive vote kick epidemic that isn’t pure anecdote that amounts to “trust me bro.” 99% of kicks are deserved and the other 1% are just bad luck. While the system isn’t perfect, it’s far better now than it’s ever been.

Prior to the deserter penalty being added you would have tanks and healers and the odd DPS try to hold groups hostage by refusing to move or wiping the group over and over to be kicked because “I’m not doing Oculus” or similar. They would demand to be kicked because it would reset the dungeon cooldown so they could insta-queue again. Thus exploiting vote kick to get random level rewards without it actually being a randomly chosen instance. Then the recent leavers during preseason who would throw a tantrum and leave when their trinket didn’t drop and screw groups over.

If it was just the one time you got kicked, do something else for 30 minutes and move on. sucks but it happens that you get a bad group sometimes. I could even see 2 kicks being bad luck, but if it’s 3 or more in a short time, the problem is definitely you. If you want to provide actual evidence of people kicking purely for the lulz, I would love to see something verifiable.

You can believe you didn’t do anything to deserve it but you’re not gaining anything by keeping your head stuck in the sand. If this is a “constant” problem in your life, then look at the common denominator in all those runs (hint: you need a mirror or reflective surface to stare into).

A group of 3 who queue together, which doesn’t have to be from the same guild or even server, needs the 4th to at least agree too. At bare minimum, you weren’t worth the consideration since there is no way you’ll make us believe a perfectly smooth and easy run with you fully topping meters to boot isn’t going to at least bring someone to pause (the “4th person” in this case) to see what the heck is up when the box suddenly pops up.

Heck, your tales would be more believable if you said all 4 were from the same guild or clearly grouped since then they WOULD own the group.

you’ve missed understood, it wasnt the same 3 people,

2nd, all i did the run, was keep quiet, heal, i kept up, no wipes, no one died, we were already on the last boss within 10mins, no holding anyone up or pouting like you suggested, and i have no proof they were trying to troll me, it’s the only other reason i can think of. i was going over the whole situation in my head trying to figure out why they kicked me.

and its not a constant thing in my life lol

anyways, doesnt matter now anyways, i got jipped of 30mins of play time in dungeons, i dont give a crap about the other content, i was online for dungeons, i just have to accept it and move on.

Two person group requires 3, three person group requires 4. Five person randos, three.

I’d love to see it because anytime someone claims “I was kicked for no reason”, their “evidence” proves they were. And their group were a bunch saints tolerating the shenanigans for as long as they did.

Usually means “I can’t take accountability for doing dumb things”.

I love these threads because the people never say what they actually got kicked for. They just feign ignorance.

A premade group of 3 needs a 4th person to vote kick someone. Which means you did something that not only annoyed the 3 people who queued together, but also the 4th random person. So what was it?

You might want to clarify better then because you make it sound like it’s the same group each time.

Read what I said slower because you missed something.

This is what I actually said. I never said you specifically were trying to hold the group hostage. I was educating you on why the deserter penalty exists.

Then you have no reason to come on here and whine about kick abuse since you just admitted you can’t prove they were doing it just to troll you. Let’s review here.

  1. You come on here accusing them of trolling you
  2. You accuse me of saying you pouted and tried to hold up the group even though that’s not what I said at all.
  3. you then admit you have no proof they were doing it just to troll you.

All of these together tell me there’s more to this story than you’re telling us. Because vote kicks in general are rare enough as is. Also if it’s not a constant thing, eat your penalty and move on with your life. I’ve eaten penalties when my net dipped on me before. Sucks but I just did something else for 30 minutes.

If it doesn’t matter as you say, why did you make this thread to whine about it? Clearly it matters to you or we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

so far its 100% / 0% that folks defending BAD behavior are directly participating in it.
