When actively fishing the Khaz’gorite Fisherfriend fishing rod model is replaced with a basic fishing rod.
This appears to happen during Ice Hole fishing in the Azure Span but not normal ocean fishing.
However the Khaz’gorite Fisherfriend model does appear correctly between fishing casts.
