Khaz Algar Engineering Question

I started Khaz Algar Engineering yesterday so I can build the Felreaver Deathcycle. Trying to level it up in a hurry. Earlier today I started Scouring thru my scrap and got a bunch of prototypes, and I just disassembled them right away for the notes. (I didn’t realize using them would give the recipe.) And now, a few hours later, I’m not getting any more prototypes from my scouring. I’ve gotten my skill level up to 39. Will I not get any more prototypes from Scouring? Did I accidently screw myself over? I don’t want to waste any more scrap if my only option is daily Inventing now…

Scour Through Scrap has a chance to provide unlearned prototypes. Inventing has a much higher chance of providing an unlearned prototype.

Neither is guaranteed to provide one.

If you have learned all the prototype recipes though, neither will provide additional prototypes.

You should be skilling up to 55 or so by crafting basic parts or some of the items you learned to craft from investing your KP. Then you start with Inventing.

Felreaver Deathcycle doesn’t come from engineering. It comes from Horrific Visions.
You do need to be an engineer to make the irresistible red button or put in a work order for one since the item is soul bound.

I know this post is 8 days old now but if you’re leveling Engy just for the bike, honestly dude don’t do it. It’s honestly cheaper to just buy the parts on the AH. As for the red button go to a few engineering vendors. They sell random amounts of that BoP scrap the button needs. Cruise around, get 10 of them, and simply put in a work order. Unless you want to actually level engineering, in that case then rock on man.

Dunno if this might help.

If you’re short on scrap Pilfer Through Parts also breaks down old engineering items so if you find that there is something cheap to buy on the AH you can break those down into scrap. Personally I used serevite bolts because I stockpiled around 40,000 of them in DF in order to Pilfer them. I don’t think that’s a profitable play now though, so you might have to look around.
