Recently got Dragonflight Keystone Hero: Season Three and the shoulder and belt mog for the warrior normal tier did not unlock. When hovering over the pieces it says “unlock the base version of this appearance to unlock this dragonflight season 3 hero version.” I have the warrior normal tier shoulders and belt mog registered under my mog sets. so I have unlocked the “base version.” Can please someone assist me with recovering these items?
Did you try to relog first? I was under the impression this unlocks helm and shoulder embellishments, not belt, but I may be wrong. Both of the pieces you mention have lookalikes (Volcanic Spelunker’s Vents and Forgotten Jalgar’s Girdle). If you hover over the appearance in your mog collection, it would note whether you have that appearance or the Molten Vanguard’s Shouldervents and Molten Vanguard’s Chains. If you only have the lookalike, in order to get the special appearance, you need to convert the lookalike or any other normal item for that slot in the catalyst. I recently noticed my druid doesn’t have any special helm customizations, but I do need to collect the lower ilvl non-lookalike shoulder to obtain the special shoulder mog. And I think it’s possible some classes just don’t have the special appearance on both slots.
Thanks homie. This helped a lot. I was able to recover the molten shoulders and belt from my trash. Upgraded them to unlock the exact colorway of the pieces I needed for shoulder and belt KSH mog. I just wish blizzard made this easier to distinguish in game. Thanks again homie!

I actually reported the issue with lookalikes not being granted the KSH effects on the appropriate class as a bug, since I encountered this on a few of my alts. It’s probably just an oversight but since it’s not documented anywhere that the exact tier pieces themselves are required, it’s still an issue. They should be able to know which class is looking at their available mogs and automatically hide the KSH variants for all but the requisite class.

You’re welcome, I’m glad that worked! I agree, there is a whole lot to be figured out in this game, much of which is not documented well. We have to help each other when we can. 
I wondered if this was a bug or a feature, but sometimes I just never know. I say always good to report anyway! There have been some annoying issues in the past with lookalikes not even counting toward the set at all (cloaks in VOTI come to mind).
This issue is also occurring for me on my DK. The keystone hero transmog is not unlocking for the LFR, Normal and Heroic color variants of my shoulders and helm, even though i have the base mogs for all of them, and the bases were from actual tier pieces, not lookalikes. I opened a ticket in game as well. Here’s hoping there is something they can do.
I’m having this exact same issue after patch 10.2.6.
Submitted a GM ticket as well, hopefully it can be fixed.
3 days of waiting for a reply, and they sent me a cut and paste reply about how mogs are not permanent until you wait out the trade/refund timer or equip the item… Even though i stated clearly in the report that i have the base versions already for all tracks, they are not missing. They are permanent and learned, but the new mogs from the 2500 rating still say i need the base version.
Yeah this makes 0 sense, I HAD the base and alternate appearance variants but they disappeared with patch 10.2.6

Just noticed the same thing for me. I put a lot of work into Keystone Hero and I was pretty proud of it, used those mogs for a while and now they’re suddenly unavailable. I’m not sure what triggered it but I hope it is acknowledged and fixed soon.
a gm finally replied and said they have received a lot of reports of this happening and they are looking into it. I just checked my char and all the mogs are unlocked now like they should be
