I’ve been playing main and several alts for the past drop. The drop rate for Vault Keys appears to be ridiculously low. Considering that you need about 36 keys to fully explore a vault, this is demoralizingly low.

Considering that the puzzles require the acquisition on multiple Torghast like items, which are locked behind locked doors without keys

RNG is screwed up with the keys, and the vault becomes less interesting and a grind to “Get more Keys”. Well screw that, I’d rather get Reputation, but lo and behold, the whole stupid Bane arc rewards 0 reputation with the Maruuk centaurs. What is up with that? Stupid arc, but appropriate for Bane.

Dont’t bather with Bane, It’s a time sink.

All I got from the vaults were those stupid gems and a few currency tokens, nothing of real value.

Join a raid farm group in three hours I got 28 keys . I don’t have any alts to funnel keys so this is the quick way to farm keys

  1. You get about 10-12 keys on the first go around. If you are hard pressed on them, you can just do the intro of the vaults with 4 alts and presto, 40 keys. They are account bound after all.

  2. The drop rates are not bad, the issue is that all the rares are like the Mechagon rares, you get to “loot” them once a day. So if you keep killing the same rares, they will only drop you Elemental Overflow.

  3. The vault, like the patch itself is all100% optional, not really meant to give anything of “value”. But there is a Mount, several pets, and toys.

  4. They have been buffing that ring, so maybe eventually those stones start to become appealing. Up to you.

You need to do more than just kill rares.

Talk to the Dragonscale Expedition Vendor. Buy the map for 2000 Overflow that marks treasure on your map. Loot treasure, has high chance at keys.

Buy the bags from her for 2000 Overflow. High chance at keys. Also can give 1-4000 Overflow. And other things.

Join raid groups to farm the War Creche. Mobs in there drop Keys.

Etc.

Not… really.

I fully unlocked the Vault on Mai this week, have enough keys to fully unlock my warlock’s vault, and have like 18 keys leftover.

And that’s just from killing rares and opening the bags from the vendor.

Not really, i killed about 7 rares and i got all doors open

Rares were dropping 2-4 keys for me, did you get substantially more than that? There’s at least four floors in the vault. I’ve heard 36 doors total, but I haven’t gotten past third floor yet so not sure how many doors there really are.

No if you have alts that your not gonna use the rings on you can send them to your main, since they are boa and you get 6 free

get the hidden treasure buff from the dragonscale envoy.
I find a key in 1/3 hidden treasure.

28 doors unlocked grants the achievement “Every Door, Everywhere, All at Once.”
Maybe it’ll change next week when the Vaults reset, since they’re supposed to be generated when you zone in. But this week, you only need 28, not 36.

Unless you were funneling keys from alts, this is literally impossible. You might be making the same mistake I did and thinking there are only two floors of doors, but in fact there are four floors, requiring some number of keys (lowest amount I’ve heard was 29).

I spent many hours killing rares and then gambled through 25k of Overflow buying the bags in order to squeeze out enough keys.

This is going to be a great help to me going forwards, though.

I got a couple of pets but really I can’t see doing this every week. Blizzard has demotivated me from caring about collectibles by their continued devaluation of them plus putting so many in content I will never do.

got 6 keys in less than 30 minutes in one of those groups yesterday plus about 3 of those tome things.

I have had no issues getting keys. Now, my issues with the vault are some of the rooms you cannot get to the boxes or loot. Some due to fire and one room has an eye and you can’t get to the box because you keep getting interrupted. That being said, I have gotten very good loot worth alot of gold. I get alot of grey pieces worth several hundred gold. I figured out the fire room though due to opening up another door and a fire shield was hidden in there. All in all, I have had good luck.
