Hello! I’m looking for a new keyboard for my m3 imac. I’m neurotic about decision making with stuff like this as I’m still semi new to macos. I’m not in need of anything terribly customizable but a backlit keyboard would be nice. I just bought a scimitar mouse and wanted to pair it well. My tartarus keyboard is need of replacement.
Could someone please assist?
Thank you in advance
What’s your budget?
I’d personally recommend Keychron.
Budget is from 50 to 90. I’ve never heard of that brand. It’s probably very expensive huh?
The prices vary. I’ve only heard of it because I go to microcenter what seems like on a daily basis constantly lignering in the keyboard isle.

id recommend this personally, $90
DO NOT GET BROWN SWITCHES youll hate yourself and cry yourself to sleep, get red the reds sound great and they’re reactive, brown will give you latency issues
I rlly cant recommend corsair bc their quality has gone down hill, I don’t like razer, I don’t like logitech, I don’t really l like a lot of brands.
i personally use the glorious gmmk pro the first model $500 keyboard biggest regret i have its great but not as good as an akko keyboard or keychrn.

the yellow creamey switches r pretty nice my sister has them and im quite envious.
if ur a big gamer your best bet is to go for red switches or blue switches if you hate your neigbors and the people you sit next to, very loud, very reactive. red is a bit more toned down but still reactive, just quieter.
Yeah I have to agree with your take on corsair quality but the mouse is good for me so far. I also don’t like razer, at least since this tartarus key board has significant latency issues in just under 2 years of use.
If you haven’t noticed, the K100 is a lot lighter now, their models back from a couple of years ago were heavier and weren’t entirely plastic.
razer just feels cheap and a “poser” way of saying ur a gamer. some of their products r cool like the tartarus keyboard but I’ve had nothing but issues with razer I owned a headset from them once one of the most uncomfortable and horrible sound quality headphones I’ve ever owned.
I’d like to avoid neighborly conflict as I myself like quiet
I’m not a big gamer anymore. I have physical issues now that have kind of ruined that experience. However, I don’t want to buy the bottom of the barrel or just average stuff. I also wouldn’t pay $500 for a keyboard because I really can’t afford $500 for a keyboard. That’s why I’m keeping my budget so low. LOL
I was young and stupid, I thought it was the biggest flex and I didn’t realize I could change keycaps at my will.
then you’ll want red, people make fun of blues (I love my blues idgaf)
then you should def hit ur microcenter ad try the keyboards out I recommended, they’re pretty nice and fully worth your price.
you can prob change the switches idk if that’ll help but switches do make a big impact
Thanks for the suggestions. In case I do not buy s keychron, is there any other brand you like? I live in Montana. We don’t have access to good stores like that so most things that I have to buy are online and Amazon is becoming highly unreliable by recommending products that I know are not compatible with Apple. I really never should’ve moved here but that’s where I am.
Akko is good
