Keyboard recommendation

Hey all, I’m in the market for a new keyboard and was wondering what you guys use/like. Haven’t really payed attention to peripherals lately so not sure what’s worth picking up in 2020.

What I’m looking for is:

  • Cherry MX Brown (or modern equivalent if they’ve been updated to something new)
  • RGB over single color lighting.
  • Full size, not 10keyless
  • Not Razer, I’ve had bad luck with their software in the past and feel they’re a bit overpriced.
  • Around or below $100
  • Easy to clean is a plus, but wouldn’t necessarily be a deciding factor.

I appreciate any feedback you guys can send my way, thanks!

if you can get a k70 with browns i think it would be a good choice.

i have k68 with reds and i like it

It seems the k70 is available with browns, but also seems to be a victim of the supply chain issues. Currently on amazon for $217 plus $46 shipping LOL.

I’ll keep it in mind if i can find it from someone not trying to gouge me though. Thanks

I really love my Corsair Strafe! I’ve had it for over 2 years and it’s been great! It’s a little out of the price range listed but you may be able to find a used one close to $100.

I could easily sell the razer i’m currently using to make up the price difference. I’ll keep it in mind, thanks!

speaking of software issues… my Logitech mouse will just decide to change profiles. so… be aware of Logitech also. lol

Appreciate the heads up!

I’ve used an HHKB Pro 2 both at home and at work for about 5 years now. Killer keyboard but its layout definitely isn’t for everybody.

I just got the Redragon K580 PRO (Brown) after some heavy research into keyboards. HIgh end quality at a great price (Amazon).

Much appreciated, I’ll look into it. I do already have one keyboard each that has Blue, Brown, and Red key switches so research into keys isn’t necessarily required, what is it about that keyboard specifically that you like? This is what I am after is specific experiences.

(Thus how I know I want brown keys for my next one)

i have used blues and reds. i liked the blues the most, but they were admittedly loud AF.

Reds are quieter, but a bit too little resistance and i tend to double type often on them. Good for gaming, but not as good for typing text.

NPET kwybords cheep and good about 35$ has RGB too

Redragon K556 on amazon. $65.
