Keybinding as hunter

After 10+ years of almost exclusively playing druid, Warbands felt like a great time to try out a new class. However, I’m struggling a bit with keybinds and having a hard time finding enough easy-to-reach keys to keep the numerous Survival hunter instant-cast abilities quickly usable.

I used to play Feral druid, and even as a damage class, so many abilities were support/heal focused, I had an easy time with macros like

/cast [harm] Rake
/cast [help] Regrowth

Because those abilities are exclusive to either friendly or hostile targets, it was easy to have many abilities share a single keybind…in other words, I didn’t need to have as many keys bound!

Survival hunter has nearly no support-style abilities that require friendly targets, so my old system is not very helpful. How do you veterans of the class work your keybinds?

Three critical keybinds

  1. A macro to heal your pet or revive it when dead
  2. A misdirection macro to apply it to the tank or pet when no target(focus or other), you can also combine this with applying hunters mark.
  3. A keybind for disengage plus any speedboost not on CD (cheetah, etc). Basically the gtfo macro
