Key to the City

As many of you know, there used to be areas that could only be accessed by having a rogue to lockpick it or acquiring the key associated with the lock. After playing with this concept for a while, Blizzard ultimately decided to retire these keys and remove them and the keyring from the game entirely. There is however one specific key, persisted despite all odds and that is the key to the city from the undead side of Stratholme.

Recently I have been farming the Deathcharger’s Reins from the last boss and as a result of around 200 runs, i have gotten a metric a**-ton of these keys in my mail box (and still no mount :upside_down_face:). The worst parts are that the item is unique (thus making it only possible to hold one in your bags at any given time) and for whatever reason, I cannot delete the mail with the key until I have looted the key into my inventory. This means myself and other players have to open each letter, loot the key, delete the key, then delete the letter 1 by 1 or allow our mailboxes to be filled with a bunch of keys to like, the most flammable city on Azeroth (Darnassus is a close 2nd).

Please remove this item from the game or atleast remove it’s unique designation to make deleting them a little faster. Thank you for coming to my TED talk

Agreed. But also they should bring the keys and the keyring back.

Yeah, I never understood why that key was still dropping. It doesn’t do anything any more.

It does still start up the nostalgia machine. I see it and I always think two things:

  1. Remember when running this place was insanely hard, and long, and complicated
  2. If this &^(&^ horse doesn’t drop for me I’m going to lose my ish
