Key Leaving. When is it acceptable?

Because you can’t hold people hostage, or because you want to?

There’s excepting people to have experience in M0 for mechanics going into M+ but that doesn’t mean you can be rude and be an elitist. it also doesn’t hurt to talk it out a few seconds to just double check everyone is on board.

Taking it out of context because you’re taking a minor part of the statement it belongs to.
But to discuss this. 90% of groups use RaiderIO to see peoples experience to a point. If you start a group with a dps who is more than likely very under geared and low score (to be doing that badly) then that’s on you for not speaking up prior to the start. If your not comfortable with the group then leave before the key is used. But again it doesn’t matter because as i said it wouldn’t fix anything.

So the other day was going a COS m+8 I believe and this tank who must and believed he was god in video game form just kept pulling, and pulling putting the debuff out on everyone as things died all together because PUGS! either way damage was dealt with and that seemed to be fine: the issue was at the first boss.

He refused to hit the last guard tower because he didn’t want to be bothered with that trash: fine enough, he also kept standing in the bosses front/back whatever purple on purple attack is (nice choice blizzard) and getting creamed and blamed me for not healing him up. All righty then, I told him BEFORE pull let me use the bottle so he kills his self at 20% and his reply was:

“No you all just need to learn mechs, I won’t let you use the bottle get good” and proceeded to pull ahead. It was at this point I went “oh F this tank” and bounced.

I dont think leaving a key that has a high chance of failure is rude or elitist.

UNLESS you purposly join a “finish regardless” party and then leave, that’s rude since you know what you were getting yourself into.

What is there to talk about brother? you walk in, you buff/pots, you ready check, and you pull.

Everyone is expected to know fights/mechanics when tackling keys after a certain level.

This shows me you don’t do many keys yourself.

IO score does not show the DPS of the individual, there’s many players who are 1500+ io right now but aren’t exactly performing as well as you’d expect them too for their ilvl/io.

The baseline expectation when doing a TIMED run, is to time it.

If we’re 2 bosses in and its very clearly this isn’t going to be done.

I don’t see the issue with not wanting to further waste your time on potentially harder bosses which might make the run even longer than expected.

I usually leave them if somebody stops moving for a split second. When I join a key, I expect peak efficiency. I will not get done with it a split second later than I need to be because you wanted to stop pressing w for unknown reasons.
