Key DPS spells should not be instant cast

What is the point of having caster classes if they can just instant cast their biggest spells. They may as well be melee and go full circle with the hominization of classes.

I think it’s funny this is coming from a Warrior, one of the best PvP dps of all time for most expansions in WoW.

Warlocks and Druids, Mages were always needed to be strong to keep Warriors in check.

Most instant casts for casters are either procs or CDs…

Remember when Slam had a cast time? Those were fun times.

Is this an “I lost in PvP so to the forums I go” rant? Because I can honestly say that no one in my PvE groups seriously complains about our fellow guild members doing more damage in encounters.

If that’s the case, then OP, there’s a specific area of the forums for your complain… errr feedback.

Well, generally speaking, warlocks actually cast those and they have a reasonable cast time.

Now Fire mages being to instant cast several pyroblasts in a row, that’s a problem.

Backdraft + Madness of Azj’aqir + Ritual of Ruin

If casters didn’t have instants no one would be doing any damage because of not being able to stand still for…more than 3 seconds in M+.

That’s still a proc that takes building up. I can’t just run around spam casting instant Chaos Bolts.

mages should be able to cast on the move, if thats the point.
Put a CD on their spells instead of a cast time. Same exact amount of damage but firing instants on the run and waiting for that same 1.7 seconds after the cast instead of before means the mage/healer/whatever can enjoy the game a little more like the rest of us.

They already do via procs and blinks lol

Im just talking as the baseline.
Four rotation spells with no cast time, instant cast, on the move, with the same CD time as the original cast time.
Then maybe 2-4 others that might have more kick that require standing while casting.

I was watching a poor healer couple days ago who could barely get off a heal over having to dodge the crap on the floor this sadistic game seems to be thinking is entertainment.
If I wanted to play nintendo 64 Id do that instead of this RPG.

I read this thread as "Caster was able to damage me (OP) while running away so I was unable to pwn them with Heroic Leap and what ever other powerful ability I have "

oh, im with you on this one, but I DO wish one of two things:
#1 - with ranged dps (spellcasters, my favorite) there was a way to do AOE damage in dungeons while moving, because
#2 - TANKS keep running while pulling and I can’t do any meaningful dps :frowning:
