Absolutely. You are correct that the questing and story departments are not the same. And yes, I think the detachment from the player experience is why they miss why the players are receiving the story completely differently than they were trying. I also think there is a bit of stereotyping that happens about the players within the development team. Its why things like redshirt guy’s letter on darkshore pretty much got addressed in total.
