There is a certain charm to the little Kelfin companions in Nazjatar which is so distinct from regular goblins I hope we do see them on the Horde for players that enjoy them, or even ones like me who wouldn’t play them but enjoy their story being progressed alongside other members of the Horde!
That is very nice of you. Everyone has their tastes. What one person may not like, another may find deeply enjoyable.
Customization - sure.
But they’d be a really unpopular Allied Race. Goblins already are an unpopular race.

After coming back and working on pathfinder, I’m really enjoying them in Nazjatar as we get to see them as a people and society as opposed to being memelike in their prior appearances.
I always saw them as an Allied Race, but now I’m not so sure with Vulpera and I fear we won’t see them in this expansion or the next as nothing else has been announced, BUT I feel that we’d be more likely to see them, and sooner if they were implemented as a skin or in a more subtle subrace option.
Kelfin are Smokin’ Hot.
I would love to see something aquatic-based, Kelfin could be options for the Goblins, per say.
I’d rather wait for em to be done right. With racials that fit and voice lines ect.
Popularity doesn’t matter though. Goblins are common stables of fantasy and they make an excellent addition to the game. This is very bad argument cause if we go by this logic, any race with under a 3% fan base should be deleted. which also includes multiple core races. I primarily play goblins and gnomes and one of the reasons I can’t enjoy classic so much is because goblins aren’t playable.
Yes, it does. Race slots are limited, and therefore, should try to be broadly appealing. You don’t need TWO versions of an unpopular race. Just stick with one.
If we get another Allied race it should be something that’s expected to be popular or at least fill a niche we haven’t touched yet.
Like the guy I saw in another thread arguing that popular races should get nothing new so less played ones get more stuff to attract new players.
It’s a dumb argument.
Race slots are a player belief. Plus the new ui suggests that don’t exist anymore.
Like… Aquatic races?
Sure, but go with Jinyu or something different than Goblins, because Goblins aren’t that popular.
Jinyu aren’t popular either according to polls.
Also they’re Alliance.
Kelfin are Horde, actually requested regularly and have great story and character. They’ll be a fine addition to AR’s.
Then why are mechagnomes playable? There has been a lot of people vocal against them. They could have gone with Sethrak. Few other examples:
- Ogres and Dragonmen originally planned for Cata
Blizzard went with goblins and worgen.
- Naga originally planned for classic.
Went with night elves.
-
High elves very popular. Went with void elves.
-
Then of course there is Sethrak Mechagnomes.
Also keep in mind that in Shadowlands slots are being eliminated.
Further more. I will say as much as I need to.

I can tell you right now that if they looked like one of these model edits I did, they would easily be one of the most popular allied races. Certain things in this aren’t cannon, but there are numerous elements however they are in these examples that can be applied to gilgoblins without breaking lore and they would still be super popular and reasonably unique for an allied race.
What polls?
I don’t see any official polls.
This is just your opinion. You want Kelfin. But, if actual data showing that only like 2% of the playerbase plays Goblins is any indicator - most people don’t.
We’ve already been told we aren’t getting anymore Allied races anytime soon, so if Blizz decides to change their mind and introduce another race - it should probably be something that’ll make a lot of players happy.
You don’t want another Mechagnome situation where the last allied race added to a faction is overwhelmingly hated or ignored.
Because Blizzard made a terrible decision. Most people hate Mechagnomes and wanted something else. Mechagnomes should have been enhanced Gnome customization.

Well. Maybe its karma for how hostile the vocal majority has been to fans of Mechagnomes. If I was looking for ideas for allied races on the forums, and I saw a whole bunch of people constantly being super hostile to fans of a niche race, I would get a very bad impression about them. Perhaps you may want think twice in the future about being so nasty about this race. The best thing that people can do who want a race is support it in a positive wholesome way.
How official you want?
I ain’t saying the polls are super accurate. But Jinyu in the ones I’ve seen all tend to be relatively low (though not the lowest) on them.
Also don’t get me wrong I’d be all for Alliance getting Jinyu (probably Ankoan too or instead) along with us getting Kelfin. That just makes sense.
What official source you got on this? Blizz doesn’t publish pop any more than racial polls.
I’m going with what I see on the forums mostly. Gilgoblins pop up often. Jinyu are mentioned by don’t have many threads.
Cool. I’ll wait. Still gonna ask. Lol
Besides Kelfin. Will make a lot of players happy if they actually put effort into them.
Haters gonna hate. I love my Mechagnomes.
Lol most folk don’t hate em at all, they’re just upset they didn’t get their racial pick.
Look man you don’t like Gilgoblins as an AR that’s fine. You do you.
I’mma keep on asking for what I’m interested in.
It used to be wowrealmpop before that cite went down. Now I believe its wowservercensus or something of that sort.
I don’t want Gilgoblins as an AR because we can tell most people don’t want them, and with a limited number of race slots left, I believe Blizzard should introduce something that more than ~1% of the playerbase would play.
It’s nothing against the race itself. You can voice your support all you want, I’m going to voice my support for options I think would be played more.

Lannesterian said it well. This is how you disagree with someone without being hostile.

A reminder also that slots have been removed. This is not the way you try to support something. All you are doing is making yourself look very bad right now.
You know it’s funny but my server doesn’t have any pop at all on those… Kinda like it’s inacurate or something.
That’s just as valid as polls dude you can’t use that info for anything more than assumption. Even then it’s borked.
You can tell you don’t want them. You got nuthin.
You have no information on any amount of race slots. Blizzard said this is how they intend to bring in any race in the future. So… Limited isn’t that likely.
Well then go do that rather than try to tell others what they should request.
Right?
Yeah I don’t get the logic.
“I’mma go into a thread specifically about a race people want and tell them no. That’ll show blizzard the other race I’m actually in support of.”
h ttp://www.warcraftrealms.com/census.php?serverid=-1&factionid=-1&minlevel=120&maxlevel=120&servertypeid=-1
Here you go.
Goblins about 2% of the playerbase at 120.
You can voice your support all you want, I just think it’s selfish to request a very unpopular race option when we know our future playable race options are limited. We won’t see another allied race for at least a few years. If Blizz even squeezes one in last second for BFA, it should prolly be something a significant chunk of the playerbase would want to play, imo.
