So I’ve noticed Wow analyzer is constantly telling me I need to improve keeping more Renewing Mists out. I’ve been actively trying by creating a keybind macro to randomly cast RenM on a party/raid member in addition to my spot mouseover RenM when needed then RSK for Rising Mist extension. One issue with this is the macro is random so there’s a decent chance it’ll just overwrite an existing RenM, especially when I’ve got a few out.
This strategy has improved my RM output, but its still not great. I find that spinning the plates of fistweaving, melee Mechanic dodging, spot healing tend to take up a majority of my focus and RM tends to drop off as a result.
So my I wanted to hear how everyone else handles dishing out Renewing Mists and keeping them out efficiently
Do you just work it into your rotation?
Do you have an addon like SmartBuff to autocast it?
Suck it up and just keep spinning that plate as well?
You should heavily prioritize it, but what I would recommend is having Renewing Mist, Rising Sun Kick, and Thunder Focus Tea close to each other on your action bars, so you can see them all at the same time to coordinate.
Basically before you ever cast any Rising Sun Kick, just use up any Renewing Mist charges so you get the HoT extension from Rising Mist.
Your thought process should be:
Is rising sun kick available?
Dump Renewing Mists
Rising Sun Kick
Also, you can take advantage of casting Renewing Mist on yourself so you don’t have to target anyone, it will bounce off of you as soon as you are full health.
As you get used to using it ASAP you’ll want to start trying to only put Renewing Mists on targets with Essence Font so that Gusts of Mists will heal those targets twice instead of once.
For me it’s about muscle memory to get it and keep it in my rotation.
Fun fact. If you cast renewing mist on someone that already has it the game will try to push the current renewing mist onto a new target. The thing is if there are not hurt people within 20 yards then it will pandemic it.
But just get a fat weakaura that yells when you are about to have 2 stack and hit it on someone that doesn’t have it. Since ReM will jump if it overheals its not the end of the world if you hit it on someone that is full hp… you just loose out on Gust of Mist healing (which can be impactful but not the end of the world)

Weakaura is definitely the way imo. Just need the reminder when you’re capped and you’re golden. I’m curious though, what sort of macro can do what you’re saying?
I keep a rm weak aura that gets a gold moving border around it when I have a charge available in combat. It helps me bc I’m like o lights on lemme use this Charge on someone. I also track abilities with weakauras, like RSK bc I need larger visual cues in the center of screen near my mana bar so it works great for me.
