First, let me start by thanking you for trying to be helpful instead of a default, “nope people never do anything toxic, so you are just lying”. Here’s my responses:
I was near full mana the whole time. It’s POS, those first three trash pulls have negliable damage, and the tank was decently geared. I was doing less than 1k HPS through the trash pulls, keeping the tank well over 90% health. DPS did not pull aggro, so I barely had to toss anything on them. It was mostly just rejuv and lifebloom.
I didn’t drink. I started the dungeon with a pot and innervate ('cause I recently switched specs before accepting the queue), and was at 100% mana before first pull without stopping to drink.
As noted above, I did use a mana pot and innervate when we stepped in the dungeon. So not sure if that triggered anything.
it’s more likely a personal habit that kick everyone undergeared. Just yeah, some actions made them to notice.
And it 's completely personal, didn’t see much thing like this in FOS and POS which considered easiest in RDF atm
Yeah, that’s what surprised me. I know what my geared healers sometimes need to do in the regular gammas, often times having to pump more HPS on gamma trash pulls than I do for TotGC and ICC raid bosses, so I haven’t even considered queueing my young Druid for a random gamma.
For gamma qualified dungeons, I have only have done FOS and POS so far, and have had no issues healing since I was 204 iLvl - FYI, RDF let me queue for FOS & POS at 204 iLvl, but I ran those with my guild. For the 210 iLvl queue my guildies weren’t online so I solo queued for POS.
I’m curious if when I could queue at 204, if the game was letting me queue for gear in bags (Feral tank), which may have pushed me over 210 ? For the run where I was kicked, my resto gear was a legit 210 by itself (full epic gems & enchanted)…including a 232 dagger from Garfrost, a 232 belt from Ick, and 232 gloves from Devourer, that I got on prior days runs. (I haven’t tanked or DPS any 80 dungeons yet on this druid, as my feral gear isn’t as put together as my Resto)
A bit off topic too, i realize that 5.2k gs healer is completely enough for gammas. Any healer higher than that doesn’t really make the run safer or faster, as long as everyone do basic mechanics.
Tank and dps, however, are different. Any of stronger geared tank / dps do help the group progress faster and safer. So, it 's understandable if someone expect higher geared tank/dps. But expect to find a 5.5+ healer for gamma is generally nonsense.
Rdf looks at bag, bank, etc and will put your highest ilvl item per slot. Its one of the things that makes the “if i can queue for it i am geared enough” arguments fall flat. Because you could be queued as the healer with ilvl 165 (quest greens) and with your feral set is 210 replacing the low items of your resto set (lets say your full feral set is 190ilvl, but its taking the best items for both specs, ignoring what role they are meant for). But you are healing. So only that 165 ilvl matters.
There is definatly truth that people will kick for bs reasons, but i do not see it as the norm which is why i dont think there is really an issue.
If someone has a addon to say when someone uses a mana pot or innervate or divine plea or something like that then they are just looking for a reason to kick someone else.
Being mana efficient and everyone staying healthy is not a reason to even look at something. The real reason is they seen your ilvl right when everyone entered and decided at that point they were going to initiate a kick when they were able. Its around 2 minutes now until someone can kick. Tried it on a dps that just went off tanking. Entered the dungeon and they were already pulling and couldnt kick for 2 minutes. I just left, I know when a dungeon is going to be a mess and that was one of them.
Not really. Many people, especially raid leaders, will have an addon or weak aura to track this type of thing to know who needs what and what CDs are available. Some use it after the fact for giving reminders to people for mistakes made, like not using health stones enough when it could have saved them.
I would agree. This is the first time I can ever recall being kicked for iLvl (Classic or Retail). Just frustrating when I’m doing fine clearing trash 1 second, and the next second I have a 30 minute no-dungeon debuff on me while standing in Dalaran. But all that said, the last thing I want to do is make it more difficult to kick leeches and griefers, so I don’t have a good answer to how they fix the situation I was in. Maybe the answer is “deal with it”, since it doesn’t happen often. I dunno.
Also would be nice if Blizzard scanned for role appropriate equipped gear when figuring the qualifier. Seems like that might calm folks down a bit who fear under-geared folks sneaking in.
There’s no expectation that people flask and food buff, and the dungeons aren’t long enough you would need to worry about people forgetting to redo them. There isn’t a raid leader trying to make retime cool down calls etc…
So it isnt useful to know when your paladin tank “died” and is on CD. Or that he used hand of protection on the healer already and its on CD, or the feral druid innervated the healer and the healer is still oom so dont pull more, etc…
Knowing what CDs are available can help a lot for a low gs group, or for a bad pull.
