Checking logs and these “meaningless procs” are doing 2-5% of peoples’ damage. Plus extra ilvl from Weapons/Ring.
PvP Gear should be BIS for PvP. I do not want to farm Mythics for adequate crest/flightstone accumulation. I do not want to farm Raids for Legendaries and Bullions.
The introduction of this gear does nothing to benefit PvP. It just creates another weekly list of chores for significant combat advantages. The whole point of MMR is to put people on a level playing field, so each lobby is competitive. Nobody wants to feel like they’re taking close losses because the other team out-mathed them.
Listen bud, having the dragon slayers pvping in SL is what allowed half of you people to reach rating that was 600+ your peaks, the least we can all do is do some dragon slaying for a ring.
535 ring bis for anyone wanting mast. crit + dot ring is hardly a gain for you unless your class also wants crit. legos are too good to pass up, but that’s four classes and if you’re getting these, crests aren’t a concern
if all you wanna do is pvp then you’ll have no problem converting merit coins into crests, but considering this is a point you wanna keep trying to make i’ll just assume you don’t really enjoy playing the game
game’s better when every character isn’t a carbon copy of the next and choices are made
Wrong but irrelevant as it shouldn’t even be needed.
Wrong again. PvP players are fine with being able to customize stats and even prefer it. What they don’t want is to have to participate in PvE to get their bis gear for PvP and it’s pretty easy to see why.
PvP outcomes should be determined by who is the better player not who decided to do dungeons and raids for gear advantages. Sure you could name a bunch of variables that prevent things from being completely even but it’s not an excuse to throw even more in and especially not ones that require significant time be invested into a different game mode so you can be on even footing in another. It’s asinine and was very detrimental to the game in BfA and they rightfully changed course. Also Blizzard is incapable of keeping it minimal and we’ll be right back to that point if it isn’t made known PvP players don’t want this.
queue up an LFR, get two bullions → convert weekly merits into drakes/wyrms → play above 2100 for 2 days
you don’t do dungeons nor REAL raids for the gear being mentioned
pve gear has been superior the entire xpac and nobody cared about it until this season, because it’s easy enough that the low end of the ladder can get it with ease. that’s equally why every terrible player who stares at details after a loss now uses this as a copout without knowing the real numbers behind the items, ignoring the fact that they’re probably just grossly misplaying a matchup
PVE gear gives an incentive for content aside from PVP and the division between the two means less people will play, not more. this point was made by better players than you, years before you even suffered from the negatives of such gear
if you don’t like playing the game as much as i do (i don’t do keys, nor raid personally) your character doesn’t deserve to be as strong as mine in terms of gear. if i’m going to spend 100% of my time playing arena, i’m going to be better than you at arena - it’s a fair tradeoff. i’ve said in other posts that i don’t want BFA type pve gear where trinkets are broken and gear is just higher ilvl than PVP gear
no amount of “equal playing field” is going to give you the result you deserve 100% of the time, but making characters feel like numbers and leaving no incentive to branch out into other content will siphon fun from playing the game as a whole
I don’t want to keep going back and forth and I don’t begrudge anyone for having their own PoV on this so I’ll just say I completely disagree with it being good for PvP to have bis gear come from PvE (ever and for any reason). I also do not trust Blizzard to keep it minimal if they find out any players like it. There’s just a fundamental difference of opinion here and I hope this gets nipped in the bud when TWW is released.
