Kaspersky Total Security Detecting Malware in Battle.net Folder

Hello,

I was out visiting my friends today and came home to see that Kaspersky Total Security detected Malware when I was away. I noticed it said that it was in my Battle.net directory and that Kaspersky removed my entire Battle.net folder as a result.

Here is the information it provided to me as I’m certain this was a false positive. I rebooted my PC and it came back clean as well. Security isn’t compromised from what I can see as well.

Anti-Virus Software: Kaspersky Total Security.
Version: 21.1.15.500 ©

Malware Detected: UDS:Trojan.Win32.vimditator
Path / Directory: C:\Program Files (x86) > Battle.net > Battle.net.exe

Figured I would post this here in case anyone has this happen to them.

Note: This only happens with the Beta Version of the Battle.net App. No issues with the Live Version.

My son also got that message last night from Kaspersky AV and is using the Beta client. His computer isn’t infected.

I’m not using the Beta client and haven’t received any messages about malware.

Probably has extra code to monitor for crashes and bugs, which means it needs to be able to read and do more things than the normal client. This would trip false positives on AVs.
