Karesh > undermine

Karesh is so much better than say undermine ever was with these following reasons:

  1. flying is on by default for both TBC flight and skyriding.

  2. better music and atmosphere

  3. zone design feels more open and not enclosed and feels claustrophobic.

  4. the skybox design is so pure beauty.

  5. gear acquisition is so much better every quest throws you gear and stones.

  6. the eco domes are absolutely gorgeous.

  7. the story is so much more intriguing than say anything in undermine ever was.

One last thing…

  1. the mob density is so much better with mobs separated and not together and clustered into an area or whatever.

And so there you have it my opinion on why Karesh is automatically the better product than say undermine.

It’s like the exact opposite of Undermine.
Undermine was loaded with interactive stuff and was remarkably stable even though it held so many assets. I liked that it was so well fleshed out with NPCs.
K’aresh is bleak and scattered. Except for the domes, the place is a wasteland. Hence wastelanders for NPCs.
I like that it has flying from the start, but that only goes so far once you realize when you’re out there you’re basically killing the same mobs over and over, just on a different floating piece of bleak ground. I also have an issue with gaining and holding Skyriding vigor out there. The angle of attack to gain vigor gets subtly changed from going to one island to the next because of altitude difference. So I just switched to normal flying until I need to haul tail out of there to turn in a quest or something.

I disagree with 2, 5, 7, and 8.

2.) Just preference. Ive always enjoyed goblin nonsense and find ethereal stuff dumb.

5.) Gear acquisition feels the same to me, it has in all seasons. Less that i disagree and more that i find it to be consistent for once.

7.) Again, ethereal nonsense doesnt interest me. Didnt even know who dimensius was until he was announced as the big bad.

8.) As a tank main i like them tightly packed. Pull a massive group without having to run around resetting half of em.

11.2 is fun though! Ill have to jump back in this weekend now that the season has started.

To me, i like Undermine way better.

Ka’resh is like big empty wasteland… like it’s nothing in there… it’s like the place is Dead… somewhat boring.

Undermine is a zone well crafted. The art, the jazz music, humorous goblin people. The zone is very much alive… opposite of Dead Ka’resh.

I liked undermine, but definitely agree… I like Karesh a lot.

I dont care for undermine and didnt play much last patch as a result. It was cluttered and just not esthetically pleasing. I felt like i was running around a greasy junkyard.

The D.R.I.V.E. mechanic was unplayable as I get pretty bad motion sickness. Ive adapted to handle as much skyriding as I need to but that car was just too much. Instant nausea.

It had a lot of nice features but just wasnt for me and i just wasnt interested enough to log on much last patch.

Neither are better. The base game Khaz Algar still rules. Dorn and Hallowfall >>>>>

While I like the story itself of Alleria and Xal’atath, I wish at least one patch had been set in an even deeper level of Khaz Algar.

I suppose they are saving the Rootlands for The Last Titan.

This zone is neat, I do like it, but no where near as good as undermine.

I really disliked undermine and i dont know if im ever going to go back there.

K’aresh however is really cool.
Great zone.
Doesnt feel like it will last too long but thats fine as in a couple months we will have remix and stuff.

Agree with all of this. So just quoting instead of retyping

The only reason i go back to undermine are the gold and key fragment WQs

Oh heck no. Undermine was way better developed. It’s hard to argue aesthetics though. If you prefer K’aresh visually that’s understandable and your choice.

For me if I skipped the rest of K’aresh I wouldn’t care in the slightest. Its a nice pretty space zone but kinda bland. Undermine had the best mogs and overall design. Their team put a lot of love into Undermine and it shows.

I agree 1000%, mostly due to items 1 & 3. Blundermine was DOA for me both because of the flight spite and not liking the gobbo atmosphere. So far I like Karesh but I’m taking it easy because I have read that flight is restricted in the phase diving activity and I’m against that. Hopefully it’s lightly timegated like SI was, I didn’t go there until the quest chain wasn’t timegated. At least I have family stuff this weekend and last so I don’t feel bad about a slow start. :hear_no_evil::see_no_evil::speak_no_evil:

I appreciate the scifi theme of karesh but undermine was alot more fun imo.

  • karesh should have had lower gravity with moondust while walking.
  • sound track is great cause I love harmonic minor but undermines music was absolutely fantastic, it fit the theme and redefined what wow is capable of.
  • Dailies were based on which goblin faction you represented and varied as a result. Rares were easily accessible with the breakneck speed and weren’t restricted by the phase diving mechanic.
  • Q and A was bigger when undermine released. The amount of issues I have been having with quest ui, quest special action button etc in this patch is worse than any patch experience I have ever had. Awful and well below blizzards previous standard.
  • half of the mounts in this patch are just Recolors of SL assets.
  • Add in the delivers journey maps require rank 2 and this patch is let down overrall. And I’m not a hater I love so much of tww but this patch feels like filler.

Its not as bad as some people are making it out to be. There are little phase pads you can teleport too while phase diving all over the place. Makes you able to travel across the entire zone in a wink.

I’ll be honest, I did K’aresh week one and two for the crate toys and I’m just done. The zone has no real staying power, Undermine I can at least use as well…a ZONE. It has several good RP spots for different occasions.

What are you guys talking about? You like the new zone? It’s sand and purple rocks … Like how low does the bar have to drop? They obviously are trying to juggle too many projects at the same time and thats why you got a crappy new purple zone, with a crappy purple raid. Stop lying to yourselves saying its good, it’s not just stop lol

But here some counter, No Pett battle. can’t find critter to tame.

There not much cool race…

No good way to farm mobs, Rare not easy find or track, You need extra help

Also of note It too small, I have idea it could been bigger but lacking. No Mob voice lines.

Wrong.

Gobbos are cool. K’aresh is just some empty space rocks.

Meh. I was actually already feeling “meh” about Undermine but at least it was colorful. And the story is, almost impossibly, even more cringe than Undermine was. Raid seems cool though.

K’aresh is just Najatar with a space overlay. Bleak, blasted wasteland with a few sparse, forgettable ruins sprinkled in.

On one hand, this is the most destroyed place we’ve ever been in. This place makes Outland look like the Titans just terraformed it. On the other… there doesn’t seem like there was much of anything to destroy in the first place. The only part of K’aresh that survived was the space boonies, apparently.

Thing is… you can do city level density and still make it post-apocalyptic. The K’areshi are among the most developed societies we’ve encountered - why are the remains of their civilization less impressive than that of the Drakkari Trolls!?

Compared to Undermine, K’aresh really feels like WoW Game Design on autopilot. It’s the same as every other abandoned, blasted wasteland we’ve traipsed through a hundred times.

Undermine will be remembered like Suramar is remembered.

K’aresh will be forgotten.
