K'aresh Graphic Issue

Hello,

Every time I play the game since K’aresh patch launched, when I 1st enter the zone and within 5 minutes my game will drop to windows, then where I was will reload with a little graphical artificing then be normal. At which time I can no longer mouse between my two monitors unless I press the windows key. Also, my mouse cursor will disappear for 30 seconds and no matter how hard I try to find it, it won’t reappear until then, even though you can see my mouse is rotating my view (FIX: Close game completely out and restart my game application).

This is the only zone that this issue happens in because I cannot duplicate it in any other zone. Another issue that I am having started July 1st after that patch day where I had to turn all my graphics down less game shuts computer off within 15s of starting a Dragon Race World Quest. With my graphics turned down I don’t always have my computer shut down when doing a Dragon Race.

My Hardware is

  • Ryzen 9 5900XT
  • ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero
  • Gigabyte Eagle 6700XT
  • 64 GB of Ram

Try switching your graphics API to Direct X 11, I had the same issue and since switching I have had zero issues

I switched from auto-detect to Direct X 11. So far it seems stable when I go to K’aresh. Wish I knew why the game worked perfectly with auto-detect up until this last patch and will slowly try raising my graphics again, so everything doesn’t look bland over the next week if this help my computer.

Thank you.

So auto detect is going to poll your GPU and find out what APIs it supports then use the highest it has available, in this case DX12. My guess is Blizz has some screwed up DX12 API calls in the graphics for Karesh and manually dropping to 11 forces the game to not use them. They will fix it eventually and then using 12 or auto detect will work again. My hope is that is soon as using DX11 the game is a little jank on my hardware.
