Literally bugged for 7+ years, and now has a highly sought after mount behind it. STILL HAS NOT BEEN FIXED.

It is not bugged. What issue are you having? You can right click the control icon by minimap to leave vehicle if the X does not work.
Sure can. and when you do, the chess peice you were in despawns. then the chess event bugs, and you have to hard reset dungeon by staying out for 30 min before it fixes its self.

Try grouping with others, if not already. I admit, I helped a couple people this week on Chess and it worked fine. All I can report, can also talk to medivh to put pieces back, but I’m sure you tried that.
i did. and a group should not be required for easy 70 content.

Its a well known old bug, very old. Shouldn’t they just fix it or leave the door open at this point? most people now i days want to solo it, having to wait for others is kind of annoying considering an easy fix is right there.

Clicking off the buff should work, but you can also beat the encounter by staying in the king the whole time.
Take two steps forward (over the pawn).
Use bloodlust/cleave on CD and make sure to move out of fire and away from buffed pieces.

all other vehicle encounters are scaled to our level. the karazhan chess event is the only one that doesn’t, and it should be fixed so that it is.

Working as intended
If broken with no way to re-set and stuck on perma silenced is what is intended that says a lot about the state of the game and the developers that created/maintain them.
Yes just got trapped myself. I have never had this issue before and have done chess many times. Despawning pieces makes it stupid difficult plus it won’t reset.
If they put hivemind behind this then just open the end door pls.

I’m surprised there aren’t most posts about this. Does it not always happen?
I was surprised to drag an alt through Kara and see disappearing chess pieces when dismissed.
