Per my previous wishlist, now that all 3 talent trees have had their Alpha makeover, and understanding that things might still change, and with the hope Blizz actually reads the forums (and because I’m insane), here is the revised wishlist for the Warlock class, trying to keep to Blizzard’s intentions with their class changes, but also disregarding aspects that feel really lame, lol.
Note: Core Tree and Core PvP Talents, as well as Affliction changes, are unchanged per my previous wishlist and were simply copy and pasted here for the sake of having it all in 1 place once again.
However, instead of leaving things as ‘Unchanged’, I am writing down their full effects. Think of it as a future archive for when all this stuff gets changed anyway, LOL!
Core Tree Warlock Wish List
Demonc Circle/Teleport, Banish, and Soul Leech are baseline. Subjugate Demon and Ritual of Doom are no longer baseline. Healthstone gains a rank 2 at higher level called ‘Pact of Gluttony’ which allows you to use a Healthstone multiple times in combat.

Each stack of Fatal Echoes increases the damage of Unstable Affliction by 10%, and grants Unstable Affliction a 2% chance to consume all stacks to reapply itself instantly.
If the target is already affected by Fatal Echoes, Unstable Affliction deals additional Shadow damage immediately, increasing for each stack.
Row Nine (Affliction Tree)
- Rend Soul: Each stack of Shadow Embrace on your target grants Shadow Bolt a 2.5% chance, and Drain Soul a 1.5% chance, to deal up to 100% additional damage based on the target’s missing health and treat them as if they just died.
The chance is doubled when Shadow Bolt or Drain Soul is affected by Nightfall. - Tormented Crescendo: While Agony, Corruption, and Unstable Affliction are active, your Shadow Bolt has a 30% chance and your Drain Soul has a 20% chance to make your next Haunt refresh, cost no Soul Shards, and be cast instantly.

Doom Blossom / Dread Touch
I will miss thee, Dark Messiah, a split talent I made to replace Grand Warlock’s Design when I moved it to the core tree, to go with Grim Reach. You were a reference to an awesome game of my youth!
- Doom Blossom: If Corruption damages a target affected by Unstable Affliction, it has a 10% chance per stack of Fatal Echoes to trigger a demon seed explosion.
- Dread Touch: Haunt causes each stack of Fatal Echoes to increase damage the target takes from your damage over time effects by 10% for Haunt’s duration.
Demonology Warlock Wish List
Demoniac was made baseline, and instead of fully reverting Blizz’s intended change, I had 2 main ideas, one was Call Dreadstalkers has a 50% per Dreadstalker to give one, or a 100% chance to get 1 Demonic Core per casting (this is the one I went with), OR fully revert the change, but keeping to Blizz’s ‘desire’, Demonic Core instead only reduces the cast time of Demonbolt by 80% instead.
Otherwise, Hand of Gul’dan is changed:
Channeled (1.5 sec cast), 1 Soul Shard cost to begin casting, 40 yd range, Empower. Calls down a demonic meteor, dealing Shadow damage on impact to all enemies within 8 yds of the target.
Tier I: Summons 1 Wild Imp.
Tier II: Costs 2 Soul Shards now, summons 2 Wild Imps.

Now for the juicier stuff, the Destro changes! In another post, I mentioned I was generally pleased with the power of the new build, but disappointed with how messy it looked. I kept the first 4 rows the same as the previous 2 talents (see Affliction for the layout), but tried to involve a lot of the new stuff here, keeping the bottom 2-point tiers.
EDIT: I revised the entire Destruction tree with ideas I had this morning, shaping it more like the Alpha remake of the tree, but still obeying my comments above.

- Incineration: Incinerate extends the duration of Immolate by 1 sec, its critical strikes increasing it by an additional 1 sec.
→ Corruption from Xavian Teachings is also affected, but at 50% reduced effect (0.5 sec). - Dimensional Rift: Instant, 3 charges, 40 yds, 45 sec CD. Rips a hole in time and space, opening a random portal that damages your target, generating 3 Soul Shard Fragments:
→ Shadowy Tear: Deals Shadow damage over 14 sec.
→ Unstable Tear: Deals Chaos damage over 6 sec.
→ Chaos Tear: Fires a Chaos Bolt, dealing Chaos damage. This Chaos Bolt always critically strikes and your critical strike chance increases its damage. (Unchanged at time of writing)
Row Seven (Destruction Tree)
- Infernal Brand: Your Infernal’s melee attacks cause its target to take 3% increased damage from its Immolation, stacking up to 15 times.
Each stack also increases the damage the target takes from your spells by 0.33% (up to 5% at 15 stacks).
→ Grand Warlock’s Design: Affects Burning Presence instead of Immolation Aura. Grimoire of Sacrifice builds up Infernal Brand now if Infernal is sacrificed. - Crashing Chaos: Chaos Bolt, Soul Fire, Decimating Bolt, and Rain of Fire have a 5% chance to grant a stack of Crashing Chaos, unless Summon Infernal is known in which case Summon Infernal grants 8 stacks of Crashing Chaos.
Crashing Chaos empowers your next Chaos Bolt, Soul Fire, or Decimating Bolt to deal 30% increased damage, or your next Rain of Fire deals 50% increased damage.
→ Grand Warlock’s Design: When you use Infernal Meteor Strike/Meteoric Burst, empowers your next 2 casts.
→ If Summon Infernal IS known, then casting Chaos Bolt/Replacements/Rain of Fire does NOT have a chance to grant a stack of Crashing Chaos. - Eradication: Chaos Bolt, Decimating Bolt, Soul Fire, and Shadowburn increases the damage you deal to the target by 5% for 7 sec. (Unchanged at time of writing)
- Charred Remains: Casting Cataclysm summons an Overfiend that casts a Chaos Bolt Volley, sending a Chaos Bolt at every target affected by your Immolate, up to 8 targets, before departing. Generates 2 Soul Shard Fragments per target damaged by its volley.
Chaos Bolt, Decimating Bolt, and Soul Fire are affected by Fire and Brimstone, spending an additional Soul Shard, dealing 15% reduced damage to the primary target, and dealing that lost 15% damage to secondary targets.
→ Decimating Bolt: Requires 2 to start casting, 3 to reach stage 1, and 4 to reach stage 3. - Ashen Remains: Chaos Bolt, Decimating Bolt, Soul Fire, and Shadowburn increases the damage you deal to the target by 5% for 7 sec. (Unchanged at time of writing)
- Dimension Ripper: Incinerate has a 5% chance to recharge Dimensional Rift. (Unchanged at time of writing)
→ Fire and Brimstone: Each secondary target damaged by Incinerate has a 1% chance to grant a charge of Dimensional Rift. - Lessons of Space-Time: While you have a Dimensional Rift open, all of your damage is increased by 5%, increased by 2.5% for each additional Rift open after the first.
Row Eight (Destruction Tree)
Lord of Flame / Rain of Chaos
- Lord of Flame: Every 15 seconds Summon Infernal is off cooldown, gain a stack of Fiery Command, up to 4. Casting Summon Infernal consumes Fiery Command to summon an additional Infernal for each one, each lasting 8 seconds.
→ Grand Warlock’s Design: Every 15 sec Meteor Strike/Meteoric Burst is off cooldown, it gains a charge and activating those abilities consumes charges to summon the infernals around your Infernal (Meteor Strike), or around yourself (Meteoric Burst).
→ If Summon Infernal is not known, every 15 sec you go without gaining one increases the chance of you gaining it by 1% until you do, up to 4%. - Rain of Chaos: While your initial Infernal is active, every Soul Shard you spend has a 15% chance to summon an additional Infernal that lasts 8 sec.
→ Grand Warlock’s Design: While Infernal is active or sacrificed with Grimoire of Sacrifice, your spells have a 3% chance per Soul Shard spent to call down another infernal for 8 sec.
→ If Summon Infernal is not known, when you gain a stack of Crashing Chaos, you also call down an Infernal to assist you for 8 sec.
Diabolic Embers / Soulsnatcher
- Diabolic Embers: Incinerate now generates 100% additional Soul Shard Fragments.
→ Incinerate now generates 1 Soul Shard Fragment per secondary target damaged through Fire and Brimstone. - Soulsnatcher: Chaos Bolt, Decimating Bolt, and Soul Fire damage to their primary target or to Havoc targets have a 6.66% chance to grant 1 Soul Shard.
Shadowburn damage has a 6.66% chance to reap the benefits as if the target just died.
- Ritual of Ruin: Every 15 Soul Shards spent grants Ritual of Ruin, making your next Chaos Bolt, Soul Fire, Decimating Bolt or Rain of Fire consume no Soul Shards and have its cast time reduced by 50%. Rain of Fire’s duration is increased by 30% as well.
→ By ‘cast time’, it refers to the channel time of Decimating Bolt (same way it works for Backdraft).
Xavian Teachings / Scalding Flames
- Xavian Teachings: Immolate always applies Corruption for half of its applied duration, even when applied by other spells like Cataclysm.
- Scalding Flames: Increases the damage of Immolate by 15% and its duration by 3 sec.
Unstable Rifts / Flame Rift
- Unstable Rifts: Your Dimensional Rifts deal 25% of the damage dealt to nearby enemies, and continue to strike their target even if dead, dealing their area of effect damage to secondary targets.
- Flame Rift: Your Dimensional Rift can now summon a powerful Flame Rift which launches 20 Searing Bolts over 5 sec at the target, dealing Fire damage to the target, reduced Fire damage to nearby targets, and additional Fire damage over 10 sec to the primary target, stacking.
Flame Rift will continue to strike its target even if dead.
Row Nine (Destruction Tree)
- Ruin: Increases the critical strike damage of your Destruction spells by 10%.
- Firestone: Chaos Bolt grants 2 stacks of Firestone. Shadowburn grants 1 stack of Firestone, and Rain of Fire grants 3 stacks of Firestone.
^ → Incinerate consumes 1 stack of Firestone to deal 15% more damage.
→ Decimating Bolt: Decimating Bolt grants 1 stack of Firestone per empower stage.
→ Soul Fire: Soul Fire grants 2 stacks of Firestone, and a 3rd if it critically strikes.
Master Ritualist / Potent Ritual
- Master Ritualist: Ritual of Ruin requires 5 less Soul Shards spent. (Unchanged at time of writing)
- Potent Ritual: Each stack of Impending Ritual increases the chance for your Chaos Bolt, its replacements, Shadowburn, or Rain of Fire to critically strike by 1%.
Ritual of Ruin increases the critical strike chance of affected abilities by 15%.
- Power Overwhelming: Consuming Soul Shards increases your Mastery by 1% for 10 sec for each shard spent. Multiple applications may overlap.
- Pyrogenics: 5% of damage done by Immolate is stored. Your next Rain of Fire or Dimensional Rift consumes the stored amount to deal that amount as additional damage over their duration.
Row Ten (Destruction Tree)
- Decimation: Your critical strikes have a chance to apply Havoc on your target for 5 sec. If Mayhem is known, its chance to be applied is increased by 10% when you critically strike. If Havoc is already active, it is extended by 5 sec, up to a maximum of 15 sec.
Chaos Bolt, Soul Fire, and Decimating Bolt reduce the duration of Havoc by 1 sec to explode, dealing damage to all enemies within 8 yards of the Havoc’d target.
→ Chaos Bolt, Soul Fire, and Decimating Bolt can trigger this, but when they do so the Havoc immediately explodes for extra damage. - Chaotic Apocalypse: Increases the damage of Chaos Bolt, Decimating Bolt, and Soul Fire by 10%, and reduces the cast time of Chaos Bolt and Decimating Bolt by 0.5 sec and the cast time of Soul Fire by 1 sec.
- Reverse Entropy: Your spells have a chance to grant you 15% Haste for 10 sec.
If Master Ritualist is known, you instead gain 15% Haste whenever you consume Ritual of Ruin (no duration), reduced by 1.5% for each stack of Impending Ruin, OR only by 1% if Potent Ritual is known instead. - Chaos Incarnate: When determining the damage increase from your Mastery: Chaotic Energies to your Chaos Bolt, Soul Fire, Decimating Bolt, Rain of Fire, and Shadowburn spells, it can be no lower than 80% of your Mastery.
→ Example: So if you had 40% Mastery, you get a 20% damage boost, and a 0-20% damage boost, this means with this talent you have a random 16-20% damage boost instead on top of the flat 20%, so, 36-40% instead of 20-40%. - Aftermath: When you cast Chaos Bolt or its replacements without Backdraft you have a 25% chance to gain Backdraft and daze the target for 3 sec. Rain of Fire can now consume Backdraft to increase its radius by 30%.
Now time for the Hero Talents! Hellcaller sees the most change.
Soul Harvester (Keystone)
Demonic Soul: A demonic entity now inhabits your soul, allowing you to detect if a Soul Shard has a Succulent Soul when it’s generated.
Affliction: A Succulent Soul empowers your next Seed of Corruption, removing the Soul Shard cost for Tier III, causing it to explode immediately, increasing its damage by 20%, and unleashing your demonic soul to deal an additional amount of Shadow damage.
Demonology: A Succulent Soul empowers your next Hand of Gul’dan, removing the Soul Shard cost for Tier III, and unleashing your demonic soul to deal an additional amount of Shadow damage.

- Feast of Souls: When you kill a target, you have a chance to generate a Soul Shard that is guaranteed to be a Succulent Soul. If they were affected by Soul Anathema, the fiendish entity releases a burst of shadow, dealing Shadow damage to nearby enemies before fleeing. Deals reduced beyond 8 targets.
→ Affliction: When Feast of Souls generates a Succulent Soul, the fiendish entity instead triggers a Tier I Seed of Corruption explosion instead of the normal burst.
→ Demonology: When Feast of Souls generates a Succulent Soul, the fiendish entity lingers as a Doomlord, casting 5 Doom Bolt Volleys before departing.
Eternal Servitude / Spirited Away
- Eternal Servitude: Fel Domination’s cooldown is reduced by 60 sec.
- Spirited Away: Burning Rush no longer deals damage to you and increases your movement speed by an additional 30%.

Soul Harvester (Row 3)

Consuming Nightfall / Demonic Cores feeds the demonic entity within you, causing it to appear and deal Shadow damage to your target. (Unchanged at time of writing) - Quietus: Soul Anathema damage increased by 25% and is dealt 20% faster.
Consuming Nightfall / Demonic Core activates Shared Fate or Feast of Souls. Feast of Souls cannot trigger a demon seed explosion or Doomguard when activated by Nightfall / Demonic Core. - Mantle of the Harvester:
-Affliction: Corruption deals damage 25% faster, Haunt grants Nightfall, and Phantom Singularity damage has a chance to trigger Nightfall.
-Demonology: Wild Imp damage increased by 5%, and they always implode when they expire (or are killed), damaging enemies around them. The increased chance to generate a Demonic Core from implosion only occurs if they damage an enemy (be it their self-implosion, or from Implosion).
Wild Imps affected by Demonwrath cast 10% faster while affected.
Soul Harvester (Capstone)
Utter Consumption: You collect Tormented Souls from each target you kill, whenever your primary demon dies or you gain a Succulent Soul Shard, and occasionally escaped souls you previously collected.
Casting Soul Rot, Summon Tyrant, or Dark Apotheosis consumes all Tormented Souls to empower yourself for 15 sec, causing your Seed of Corruption and Hand of Gul’dan to always invoke your demonic soul, and causing your demonic soul to deal 1% increased damage per Tormented Soul consumed.
→ Grand Warlock’s Design: Casting Soul Rot or Nether Portal triggers Utter Consumption. If Dark Apotheosis is talented, you instead gain the ability ‘Utter Consumption’ with a 1.5 sec cast time, 1 min cooldown, that empowers you for 15 sec as noted above.
Diabolist is next!
Diabolist (Keystone)
Diabolic Ritual: Spending a Soul Shard on a damaging ability grants Diabolic Ritual for 20 seconds. While Diabolic Ritual is active, each Soul Shard you spent reduces its duration by 1 second.
When Diabolic Ritual expires you gain Demonic Art, causing your next ability that costs Soul Shards to summon an Overlord, Mother of Chaos, or Pit Lord that unleashes a devastating attack against your enemies, cycling from Overlord → Mother of Chaos → Pit Lord → Repeat.
Diabolist (Row 1)
- Cloven Souls: Enemies damaged by your Overlord have their souls cloven, increasing damage taken from you and your pets by 10% for 20 sec. (Unchanged at time of writing)
- Touch of Rancora: Demonic Art also grants Ritual of Ruin. Hand of Gul’dan/Ruination can consume Ritual of Ruin to channel 50% faster, and increase their radius of effect by 10% (otherwise Ritual of Ruin works as it does normally for Destruction). If Ritual of Ruin is already active, it gains an additional charge.
- Secrets of the Coven: Mother of Chaos empowers your next Shadow Bolt or Incinerate to channel raw demonfire (animation like the old Channel Demonfire, but the flames are more akin to Demonbolt).
Channel Demonfire: Channeled (3 sec cast), 40 yd range. Launches 15 bolts of demonfire over 3 sec at your target. Each bolt deals Shadowflame damage to the target. The 5th, 10th, and 15th bolt is empowered, as noted below:

Ruination: Channeled (1.5 sec cast), 1 Soul Shard to begin casting, 40 yd range, Empower. Call down a demonic meteor from the depths of the Twisting Nether, dealing Chaos damage on impacting to all enemies within 8 yards of the target.
→ Tier I: Deals Chaos damage, damage to the primary target is further increased by your critical strike chance.
^-Demonology: Summons 1 Wild Imp.
^-Chaos Wave: Ruination travels along the ground as a wave, dealing reduced Chaos damage to targets in its path to the primary one.

Demonology Talent Interactions
- Fel Invocation (Demonology): Ruination’s cast time is increased by 1 sec, gains 2 empowerment stages, summons an Wild Imp per extra stage/costs 1 Soul Shard per extra stage.
- Call Fel Lord (Demonology, PvP): Also triggers if the Fel Lord is summoned. (Assuming the Pit Lord via Gul’dan’s Ambition and Nether Portal trigger Ruination!)
- Gul’dan’s Ambition (Demonology): Ruination channels 30% faster instead of being made instant cast like Chaos Wave which it replaced. This does stack with Ritual of Ruin via Touch of Rancora, making it channel 80% faster!
- Pact of the Imp Mother (Demonology): Ruination has a 8/15% chance to cast Hand of Gul’dan against its primary target at the same empowerment stage it was cast at.
Destruction Talent Interactions
- Backdraft (Destruction): Backdraft also causes Ruination to channel 30% faster.
- Firestone (Destruction): Ruination grants 1 stack of Firestone per empowerment stage reached.

Hellcaller to wrap things up!
Hellcaller (Keystone)
Impending Catastrophe: Your Vile Taint (Affliction) and Cataclysm (Destruction) spells are empowered into Impending Catastrophe: 2 sec cast, 40 yd range, 30 sec CD.
Call forth a mass of shadowy flame that travels to the target enemy, dealing Shadowflame damage to enemies in its path.
When the mass reaches the target it explodes, dealing Shadowflame damage to the primary target and all enemies around them, inflicting Curse of Weakness or Curse of Tongues on all targets damaged, as well as Agony (Affliction) or Immolate (Destruction).
Talents which affect Vile Taint or Cataclysm also affect Impending Catastrophe.
→ Animation is a Kil’jaeden’s Burning Will-type shadowfire ball that follows the target and explodes on arrival.
→ Against Players, Impending Catastrophe applies Curse of Tongues to all Healers, Elemental Shamans, Mages, Warlocks, Balance Druids, and Evokers. Anything not listed gets Curse of Weakness.

Its amplified effect reduces the target’s critical strike chance by 100%.
Impending Catastrophe only applies Curse of the Satyr to targets damaged by its explosion, and you always gain the benefits of Soulburn when casting Amplify Curse.

- Catastrophic Arrival: Impending Catastrophe travels faster to its target, and deals 25% increased damage per enemy target hit on the way to its final target, up to 200% increased damage (8 targets).
- Immediate Catastrophe: Impending Catastrophe deals 15% increased damage for each enemy damaged by its explosion (up to 120%, 8 targets), but no longer requires a target, appearing above the chosen location and falling down 1 sec later to explode.

→ Destruction: Immolate and Incinerate damage has a chance to fire a bolt of entropic flame, dealing Chaos damage to their main target. Bolts of entropic flame generate 1 Soul Shard Fragment. Chance increased when Incinerate/Immolate is affected by Backlash. → Destruction: Infernal, treated as if from Rain of Chaos (no stun).
I do maintain a spreadsheet with -EVERY- class, spec, and hero talent thus far revealed (which is… all of them I think?) With my own tinkering and edits, like Augmentation Evoker being a Tank called Negation, or Survival Hunter being a Tank (so there are 2 Mail wearing tanks), and Demon Hunter gaining a 3rd DPS spec called ‘Anguish’, a Evoker-like mid-range caster with some small Support-like features.
Main Edits: Updating Affliction, and some changes to Demonology to emphasize Demonic Empowerment, and Destruction to tinker.
