Kaja-Cola machine is broken account wide

The machine is supposed to have the following buttons:

Oyster Outbreak (first button)
Mangoro Madness (second button)
Bluesberry Blast (third button)
Orange O-pocalypse (fourth button)

Instead my button order is as follows:

Oyster Outbreak (first button)
Orange O-pocalypse (second button)
Bluesberry Blast (third button)
Orange O-pocalypse (fourth button)

This has persisted across multiple server resets and I get the same result on multiple characters.

Have you done a UI reset? You can undo it after if it doesn’t work, just rename/move the folders in question back.

It’s definitely not a game wide bug, I had no issue doing it last week.

If the reset doesn’t work, make a bug report in game or on the bug report forum.

Worked just fine for me a couple hours ago.

Worked fine for me over the weekened too. Does the order even matter? You just have to press them in the correct order to get the bag (BOOM, with the 2 o’s in alphabetical order).

I have actually had to do a complete computer rebuild since it started - I got hit by the Samsung SSD M.2 firmware bug and lost both drives in my computer and have had to do a reinstall and build my UI form scratch - I think that would count.

I don’t think it is a game wide issue for multiple players, I had assumed it was only one character being affected, but the next character I got to that zone is showing the same issue.

EDIT - I have just loaded into game having moved my interface and WTF folders out of the retail directory so the game acts as a fresh install and I now don’t have a top button at all, and then the remaining buttons are orange, bluesberry, orange.

I have also reported it both using the in game bug tool and on the bug forum (updating it after each reset) but I appear to be the only person who has looked at that post.

Don’t worry, it will get viewed. Unfortunately thats really all you can do, you are highly unlikely to get a response. Then it’s just a waiting game sadly.

To set expectations, it’s likely not a priority right now to get looked at (character deletion/restoration and empty banks are a bit higher on the list I’d imagine) but hopefully it sorts itself out and you won’t have to wait too long.

Just to double check, you didn’t have any add-ons when you launched the game with new folders, correct?

Sorry to hear about the computer rebuild, always happens at the worst time?

I moved both the interface and the WTF folders out of the retail folder - so no addons or saved settings - it treated it as a ‘fresh install’ - but I have also had a literal fresh install with zero addons and saved variables show the same error.

I was thrown by the drive issue - it took us a while to work out what was going on - both internal drives set themselves to read only simultaneously and couldn’t be unlocked. It’s a known firmware issue with some Samsung SSD M.2 drives. That means if it hapens to a boot device you can’t boot from that drive, and I couldn’t see anything in the user directories becuase I couldn’t change the permissions to do data recovery. Super frustrating.

I’m still trying to work out a good back up solution, it was only my gaming box - all my other devices are backed up properly. And to add insult to injury - I have recently been working on a DR/BCP project for a client. :frowning:

The rule of thumb for backups is 3-2-1

You need three copies, on two different media, with at least on copy being off-site.

I’d rather not use one-drive, I probably need to set up some kind of scheduled event to copy the essential files to secondary media.

EDIT: Issue now resolved - in case anyone else encounters this. The problem was the ‘label’ for button 4 was permantently ‘active’ and sitting at a higher strata than the other buttons and was sitting in front of button 2. Think seeing one of the ‘invisible rabbits’ that are used for some quests. This seems to have been a server side flag as it was independent of character on my account.

The way I resolved it was to zoom in to first person POV and stand nose-to-nose with the machine so I had to pan up and down to see the different buttons. This meant the label was no longer blocking the other buttons and I could complete the puzzle.
