Kael'Thas voice actor change

I don’t. It serves no purpose other than to rile up salivating bottom feeders from the depths of the internet.

Blizzard has every right to do as they see fit with their product, within the law. Changing Actors and Files is in their right as owners of the property.

As others have said - we do not know the details. For all we know, there was a buy out or nondisclosure payment tied to a deal between the Actor and the Company.

And that aside… If I worked for a company, and they scrubbed my work based on lies… I don’t know how I would feel about it. I might be gracious and accept an apology. Or I might reject an apology, and be glad my voice was removed from such a short sighted and toxic brand. Again, we don’t know what occurred.

His new voice sucks compared to the old one.

I’m kinda mad. It doesn’t convey the same oomph the original voice after had.

So the story suffers.

While I couldn’t find any tweet related to his role in World of Warcraft, he has personally expressed a desire to be rehired in others companies who cut ties with him in the same circumstances. I think it is safe to assume that he would be glad to be rehired by Blizzard as well.

And as paying customers, we have every right to express our displeasure, and to add this element to the large cup of many droplets that might eventually overfill and lead us to another company.

True never even did it for Swifty which was proven to be false. And we the players have to sign a social contract that the employees should be signing instead lmao. Blizzard do bad players get punished.

They don’t have to revert anything.

Actors and voice actors get replaced all the time during or the production of a game, show/movie. Or can’t because of other projects.

Yes, and there’s nothing wrong with that when it is for the right reasons, like when they

But it is not the case on this occasion.

Generally that is a civil suit for defamation/libel/slander where it can be proven the false statements were malicious and intended to cause harm. Damages would be related to lost wages/jobs, court costs, etc. If that is what happened then it should be relatively easy for the person to sue the malicious party for damages and court costs. I assume they have done that if applicable.

No, this topic really does not belong here. At the core it is a matter for the courts and Blizzard, not for players to have a gossip session about.

Being green or gold does not make my comments on anything “official”, and never has.

This on the other hand is a reasonable discussion, in my opinion. It is talking directly about the in-game voice acting and the impact on the story for this poster. It does not discuss anything that strays into personal lives or legal matters.

I was so happy when I got Ashes of Alar so that I never had to listen to the new KT voice again. Then I heard about season 4 and I cried a bit inside. Quinton Flynn has always been a champ in everything I’ve ever heard him in from games to shows and impressions.

It’s one thing to use a new voice actor for new lines and politely tell the old one that his services are no longer required. But Blizzard went back and rerecorded everything. That’s just trashy and disrespectful.

If this topic isn’t one that’s allowed to be discussed, the mods will take care of it I’m sure. Do you reckon they need your help?

I dislike that you appear to have ignored the whole rest of my comment detailing why I think that we are on topic and why we do have some legitimacy in our opinions on the matter.
Wether an in-game change is good or not can be hugely dependent on why it was made, and as such players have the right to discuss it.

Ya for Mira this particular topic is “out of bounds” but I’m sure he said the same during the million lawsuit threads that also discussed actual people. I guess it just depends who we are talking about that makes it ok or not right?
