Why did he become a boss in BC? Was it because people hated blood elves?

He’s fire spec so he’d be the hottest mage, not the coolest.

But he is dead and can’t return to his living people, who don’t like him anyways. They consider him to be a traitor and a dark mark on their history.

He was looking for a cure for his people while the sunwell was destroyed and he sided with the legion and there magic and he end up losing his sight of his mission in the first place and got corrupt and power hungry

I understand the lore part, but I can’t understand why blizzard made him a raid boss.

He when 1 v 1 with arthas and nearly won while jaina couldn’t even do any damage to arthas so im guessing hes the most powerful as well

Kael’thas, with some of his most powerful servants, claimed the magic-rich area of Netherstorm as his base of operations in Outland. Displaying his long-severed ties to the Kirin Tor, Kael’thas ordered the callous destruction of the local Kirin’Var Village and its residents. Kael’thas himself claimed the citadel of Tempest Keep as his own and was able to overcome its powerful defenders - including a naaru, named M’uru, whom Kael’thas sent back to Silvermoon City for his people to feed upon by opening a portal with the technology of the Keep. He maintained these portals to send mana cells harvested from the Netherstorm to Quel’Thalas, still appearing as the benevolent prince.[26]

His attack on Tempest Keep also led to the outmanned draenei being forced to flee in a vessel, the Exodar , though several of Kael’thas’ agents were able to give pursuit. Upon the draenei vessel’s crash into Azeroth itself, Kael remained in touch with his underlings and instructed them to create a portal - the Sun Gate - capable of allowing reinforcements from Tempest Keep to arrive and slaughter the draenei.[1]

As the forces of the Alliance and Horde began pouring into Outland, Kael’thas and his followers originally accepted the blood elven pilgrims.[27] However, these new arrivals were given menial tasks and treated little better than slaves,[28] until Voren’thal’s Scryers discovered that Kael’thas had entered into an alliance with the Burning Legion through the revelations of Sunfury deserters.[29] Despite this revelation some other elves still decided to join their prince, prompting a recruitment war between Kael’s forces and the Scryers.[30]

edit: I have no knowledge what Kael’thas did to Allerian Stronghold.

I for one welcome the return of Kael’thas! Fresh and HOT Prince of Silvermoon.

Ultimately, he was a leader who went to extreme methods in order to secure a future for his people. Can’t really fault him for that.

I hope he returns too. Blizz did him dirty for no reason. He would have been an amazing leader to have but no we need to make him a villain just for the hell of it

Me too! However I’m actually really exited and nervous about this…

I mean KaelThas Sunstrider has always been written losing and messing up EVERYTHING… just like the Blood Elves, its like they never get a real win in the story ever.

Yeah his awesome and extremely powerful, talented and unlike most of his elven contemporary mages he was creative like human mages… but in the end he lost everything, even the girl.

I’m sure it was not intended but his the most imperfect relatable (because how many mistakes he made trying to do the right thing) human character that is not human in the whole wow stories… (If that makes sense)

I really hope what ever story is written, has a cinematic even if its just in the game about him and his people if its possible…and give me all sorts of feels or even make me cry! lol
Just like Arthas, Illidan, Kel’thusad… I remember loving playing with Kael they were all my favorite in WC3. Pleasee let it be goood story arc!

Although I hate Jaina, and Kael is pretty cool, you have to remember that Arthas wasn’t the Lich King when they fought and Kael only almost won through mind games.

Hmm oh yeah… I remember that was pretty cool moment in WC3! :star_struck:

It kind makes you wonder how really powerful he was or is right now in SL…?
Kinda hoping we get to see it in SL to be honest.

Wow can you even imagine Ogrimmar being run by Blood Elves? Or even have a Warchief Blood Elf like Kael?

Oh I PAY to see that! I can even start visualizing the Jokes and meme…that come out of that alone!

As a Vampire Elf would be cool. Alot of San’layn Lovers would love that.

There’s more sympathy than hate for Kael. It was a desperate, terrible time, and he should never have been hit with the villain bat.

It’s only fair that the coolest Blood Elf ever become a Night Elf after the atrocity of Teldrassil.

Kael’Nalas Moonstider, Night Warrior champion

If he comes back, I hope it’s as another loot piñata. Just because you’re a tragic villain doesn’t mean that you aren’t still a villain.

I’m either hoping to roll him as the new leader for the Venthyr (God I hope he’s Not some average joe follower we recruit) or we gather enough anima to revive him in the plane of the living for a crisis Azeroth will be facing.

The funny thing is that is so out of left field for him. He just suddenly turned insanely evil and joined up with the forces that destroyed the sunwell and most of his people…

Every WC3 character needs to be a raid boss eventually.
