What does flying add that justifies its continued existence in WoW? Minor convenience? Sightseeing?

After the WoW community felt what flying is like removing it entirely would cause a bigger uproar than it already has with pathfinders.
edit: some zones are designed for flying and not having it grounds blizzard’s potential design wise.

The convenience isn’t all that minor when Blizzard intentionally designs zones to be as annoying and tedious to navigate on the ground as possible (see Argus and Nazjatar).

I have seen pro flyers literally say they are considering paying people to play the game for them
It makes no sense other than they want an extreme version of the bubble wrapped EZ mode that wow is today. It’s already hard to die without skipping every mob and terrain
Flying over all danger makes no sense to me. Just give them a god mode cheat or something

Classic doing fine without flying. The sad thing about wow is so much effort put into designing the world that we don’t get to experience because we either teleport to instance or fly to skip over everything.
