I mean what the hell… .these trolls built this amazing city and adapted to the desert after the sundering, minding their own damn business, then abunch of scumbag “adventurers” (us), both Horde and Alliance, come and just genocide off their entire city for the Epic Loot. You interrupt a sacred process of execution to save a band of criminals before partaking in a mass orgy of violence on the civilians of the city and priests before finally murdering the leaders in cold blood. We even kill like their god and shatter pretty much their entire culture. Pretty disgusting.
Blame the Horde.
trolls are evil anyway.
you know, dark magic and blood sacrificies.
tyrande threw an orcs head into a moonwell for her power up. pretty sure that’s dark magic and a blood sacrifice too, but i dont blame her or think night elves should be killed off
low key the horde should have united the troll tribes
good point.
But, that orc surely was a soldier who was attacking the place so he deserved it.
A large part of Zul’farrak’s fall is due to treachery, where infighting caused a troll who tried to claim a powerful sword to become champion of the tribe to be killed by his leader to keep that sword, and then that very troll’s ghost hired us adventurers to wipe the whole thing out.
Also I think Twilight’s Hammer was involved at some point?
Clearly not:
Chief Ukorz Sandscalp is obsessed with restoring his tribe to its former glory. He was raised on stories of a time when trolls lorded over their ancient lands without interference from goblins, gnomes, pirates, ogres, and other foreign interlopers. Sandscalp has called on his trusted comrade Ruuzlu to help him begin a new chapter in Sandfury history in the only way their tribe knows how: with swift and blinding violence
The problem with the Sandfury, as with most of the trolls, is they couldn’t play nice and realize their empires needed to change or be destroyed. In way, change is the only reason Zandalar is still standing now.
The only good Troll is a dead Troll. The Faraki got what they deserved.
I am leveling a Zandalari Rogue for the heritage armor. I recently did Zul Farak. It has been years since I had an Alt at that level.
It was fun! I normally listen to music or howard stern or something. But when I saw the Dungeon Finder landed me in ZF, I turned on the in game music and the sound.
I am hoping this can happen in a fashion.
There is a part of me that hopes either Voljin returns as Warchief - or Talanji becomes Warchief with Loa Voljin taking Rezan’s place as “The Loa of Warchiefs”. And the Horde becomes a pseudo Troll empire.
If the next expac is Old God themed, it could shine more light on the history of the Trolls who fought the Aqir long ago. It would be great to have Trolls of every make and model as NPCs.
This was my troll character’s greatest hope and ultimate goal since Wrath. She never personally liked Vol’jin (didn’t hate him either) but was very pleased to see a Jungle Troll taking over the Horde.
That place is without a doubt my second most favorite dungeon.
Don’t we treat Trolls always like that?
We just opened their eyes. Choosing a giant beast as their god isn’t a good idea and iirc this thing even had connections to the Old Gods so…
Justice for Zul’Farrak?
What about Zul’Drak, mon?!
I mean, there was absolutely no reason to fight them, they were just really desperate to fight off the scourge. Like, I get that sacrificing loa is some serious heresy in Troll culture, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
The Drakkari could have been valuable allies in our war against the scourge had we just shown them the error of their ways and had just aided in defense of their empire. Instead we aided in their near extinction for no reason, leaving their loa with no worshippers when they eventually return and completely destroyed their empire.
If you look at Zul’drak, you’ll find they’re alot more advanced than people give them credit for. They have a massive zone-wide irrigation system and which allows them to grow crops in conditions which should not be possible. Everytime I run Gundrak or Drak’tharon, I turn up both the music and ambience, because the Troll music in these places is awesome.
I hope we one day find some pockets of Drakkari survivors and get ice trolls as a Horde allied race, they just have the coolest stuff imo.
P.S. We still don’t know what’s up with that massive serpent beneath Gundrak…
I sooo wish that we get the option to make Sand or Frost Trolls in the future.
I love the Drakkari.
Zul’Drak is one of my favorite zones in the game. It’s one of the only storylines that I really found chilling, the lengths people will go to when their empire is crumbling around them.
Well, blizzard thought so apparently
The zone designers thought it would be cool.
Metzen mostly made joking remarks about it because it’s just… kind of a cool thing.
It’d be neat it if it was a hitherto unknown snake Loa or something. Maybe something like the origin of the other several(?) snake Loa, same way as the positively colossal Xebala being the mother of Rezan.
sounds messed up but did’t we kidnap a few Drakkari into the black market in Wrath?
ah, found it!
The troll empire is a lie and all trolls should have the same fate as zul farrak, just wind and dust! death to muh honor horde! death to all trolls and orcs! vile scum
Hey! No!
It was a Troll Mage who lit the payloads of the Catapults. And Troll Shaman were given a shout out as making Teldrassil burn faster.
The Trolls do their part.
