Justicar's Vengeance

I went on the pre-patch, and after looking at some of the talents, I noticed that at base, Justicar’s Vengeance does around 600 more dmg than Templar’s Verdict, and only 200 dmg less than Final Verdict. This is without proc buffs to TV, and without the 50% increase to stunned targets for JV. Could JV become an actually useful ability now?

I think it’ll most likely get nerfed or hopely chanced for the better. But in the mean time I plan on using it over the others. Simply because the boosts to Templar’s Verdict/Final Verdict are either random, or limited in duration. To the point where they’re simply not going to make up the difference or enough of a difference to matter. Plus you can always put those points into other dps increases that will most likely make up the difference. But with the added benefit of self healing.

Still I don’t like missing the range from Final Verdict or its cool animation. So I do kinda hope something done to fix it.

Edit: doesn’t seem to hit that hard in duels, it seem I do better damage using Templar’s Verdict(and I’m not using any modifiers). Though I did get a 40k crit Justicar’s Vengeance on a stunned target.

Yes, it is unironically op atm. Literally hits harder than FV and heals you for that amount.

FV can still be useful for the range on certain encounters, but for M+ I don’t see why I would try to talent into TV/FV at all over JV even during Tyrannical. FV also still scales with conduits right now so you’re getting a lot more damage with it in Shadowlands for single target encounters.

I don’t know about in the pre-patch, but on Beta JV is slightly stronger than TV - until you count the talents buffing TV. FV is clearly stronger than JV. For a ST fight where you’re taking a lot of constant damage (like soloing rares normally left for tanks) JV is good. Otherwise, not really. For AoE, DS just beats its socks off.

I went on the beta the other day and JV was hitting harder than FV though? The talent before FV only increases its total damage output by about 2-3%, so barely edging it to equal out with JV. Better to put those 3 points elsewhere.

Currently at level 60 in Shadowlands, it’s still definitely no contest that for a pure single target fight, Final Verdict is way better because of the boosts from talents and conduits. It’s less clear starting at level 70 in DF but Final Verdict should still come out on top for single target fights even if they never touch JV again, especially when you get tier.

If you need to top up your health for a big hit you know is coming, JV can be minutely useful for that without sacrificing as much damage as you would with WoG. WoG with Healing Hands becomes disproportionately more effective at lower health values, though.

Yes, FV will overall do slightly more, even at 60. With tier, and in SL, I can see that being the case for sure. But in the grey area when you’re leveling and/or doing non-SL content , the 3 points don’t justify how tiny of a dps gain it is as opposed to putting them elsewhere.

Yeah for leveling it’s fine to be using JV probably. The DF tier 4-set also boosts FV damage by 10%.
