Just wondering how many female players there really are?

That’s not at all what I meant :sob:. I did a bad job asking the right questions. At the end of the day I respect anyone regardless of gender and I just wanted to see the diversity of the game

The thing is, it’s simply not the right question.

It literally does not matter if the person on the other side of a wow character is male or female.

Why do you need to know? What will having that knowledge gain you?

What is female? I only know of body types 1 and 2.

Yea, and your right. Probably wasn’t something I should have asked. But at the end of the day its curiosity and I think we, as humans, are all, always curious. I don’t think it’s bad; sure sometimes the things you wonder might be bad, but it’s human nature. I think it’s normal to wonder about things just to see if our suspicions are right or not.

yeah the knowledge won’t matter other than going “oh ok that’s interesting”. It’s not like I’m sitting at my desk sweating over debating if a character is a man or a women, just a simple idea that has crossed my mind. Not trying to make this into anything other than “I wonder”….

I could be way off, but based on every guild raid I’ve seen, my guess at a ratio is probably 70/30 at best.

I understand that solely looking at the narrow scope of content I was doing isnt particularly accurate, but it’s the only thing I’ve got.

Why are you so upset? The mind wonders sometimes.

Presumably, it will satisfy his curiosity.

It matters to him insofar as he is curious about it

Oh I missed the second question. I play a ton of characters that are female. Mostly gnomes.

I don’t see the character as an extension of me so its not weird its its own entity entirely. And it really only seems to come up in MMO’s. Guys didn’t stay away from Metroid because Samus was a woman, they aren’t going to stop playing hollow knight silksong because Hornet is a woman.

I’ve only done voice chat with a handful of my battle tag friends are 2-3 are women. In my raid group of around 15, I think 3 are women.

But I was guessing 70/30 was probably the most accurate.

If it’s a ‘large’ race, I usually minimize the on-screen real-estate consumed by the obesity by making it a female.

Yeah I guess that makes sense. But even female Tauren are enormous :joy:. It’s impossible to make a Tauren look small

Sometimes female characters just have (subjectively) better animations and/or armor mapping too

I can only offer my own opinion, but none of that bothers me. In game I feel about as safe as any other WoW player feels in a community that is… How should I put this? A little intense at times? That’s all to do with the stress of trying to learn dungeons at times with a playerbase that expects you to just know everything. Not mythic +, but things like timewalking even. I digress though…

I am always been a bit of a tomboy, and so been around mostly men most of my life. Bluster and joking don’t bother me, and people who are being genuinely awful I just ignore because they’re online in a video game and there’s nothing they can actually do to me. This isn’t relegated to just men though. I find women can be equally as awful at times. Whether someone’s an awful or a good person is more related to what kind of person they are, not what gender they are.

I generally play male characters because I like the way they look more often than female characters. Mostly it’s just a body type I like. Male characters are the ones closest to that. Not in WoW, sadly, as all the male characters are a bit beefy, but for an example, male Viera in FF14 have the kind of look I prefer.

Again though, I am a little strange and prolly not a good barometer for women as an average.

Knowledge shouldn’t be limited because people may have problems with the questions or answers. If we did so we would still think the earth was flat and that the sun revolved around the earth.

Hello, I see you posted a thread about the ladies. All of them are over in the largest, greatest, #1 MMO on the planet, Final Fantasy 14. Seriously, every discord you join over there is full of women!

Thanks for your post and have a great day!

This was the answer I was looking for. I personally like to see fictional versions of myself. Like me as a void elf. Me as a zandi troll. And whatever. I like to make myself look in game how I know I’ll never feel/look in life. This is what I was looking for from ppl :joy:

it would not be surprising if more women play wow than men

Thank you :upside_down_face:. I don’t know many ppl in the game so was just trying to learn about others experiences. It’s nice to see different reasons for playing and choosing what you play for different reasons than others

why is it sad?

I think that would be pretty cool
