Hi there!
My time is limited or so, enough to not be able to raid. I want to do dailies when I ding 70, fairly easily. And maybe a heroic from time to time. Anyway any good sets I should try out either Via crafting or AH that would help me? Also which Reps would benefit me the most? Also on a raiding note, I hear (true or false?) that Kara needs no attunment now? If so I guess I could do that sometime. Thanks!

Off the top of my head. Blacksmithing for the weapon is huge.
I think lower city gives you the ring.
Google ret bid gg, check the prebis. There are green lvl quest rewards with expertise that are really nice.

awesome ty! Now I gotta grind Blacksmithing, hahaha.
I am prot mostly. Went engi/enchant mostly so I can farm between raids…
I am jelly of the rest with Lionheart - it looks so cool

yeah i looked it up, remember it vaguely, very cool look!
You need to get the expertise shattrath leggings and the clefthoof hide leggings, they are your bis until you get raid gear from t5.
1-google a bis list for ret and plan accordingly
2-goto youtube and learn how to seal twist by muscle memory
3-???
Profit
A BiS list is going to require raids. He can look for a pre-raid BiS, which will potentially have normal/heroic loot, on top of BoEs, some quest rewards, and BoEs/crafted.
One thing to mention is that the BiS list won’t be all plate, as it’s tailored to DPS alone. Often the DPS boost of leather gear - or mail - will be noticeable, but not worth the loss in survivability from losing plate.
The dailies won’t require much powerful gear. Anything you pick up is good, really, it’s the weapon that matters most and that’s gold.

It’s OK 1st thing you should do look up look up a site called 70 upgrades.
This will help you find gear pieces I’ll let you find your pieces what’s optimally better it lets you isolate if you can’t do raids or anything like that.
Another thing I would say don’t underestimate quests Some of your best previous rating gear pieces come from quests.
However off the top of my head it will talk about an entire gear set from a fresh 70 I would say get your wraps up.
Because that Reputation pvp gear is pretty solid
Is that and if we’re talking about just a really good solid weapon the polar from lower city at exalted.
But I would definitely say look for group quests use 70 upgradis Louis 70 upgrades isolate raids and go from there.
Absolutely, BiS is for a parse spread sheet. Not a leveling, casual Ret Pally. Ditch the expertise pants unless you are hit capped 9% and go for some stronger plate ones. Nice pair with sockets from Heroic Mech
For reputation gear you need revered to exalted which mostly cannot be done without running heroic dungeons.
Make friends, lots of friends. Because most pugs are not going to take a ret DPS in dungeons.
Bruh don’t tell him to ditch the expertise pants, even if he can’t raid right now, that could change in the future and those expertise pants are absolutely needed.

I have a 70 Ret and he has no problems getting into dungeons or pug raids at all. They have so much utility with rez’s, BOP’s, and Salvation allows bigger dps classes to pump harder. With decent gear you pull 1k+ dps no problem which is more than acceptable.

Damn if only people had spent time drafting class/gear guides on the internet and put them in multiple places so that other people could perform an online search to find detailed information on that topic. Oh wait they have.
Alternatively, Hammer of the Naaru looks pretty cool and it was featured in the opening cinematic. Just in case Blacksmithing isn’t your thing.
Super easy gearing list, easy to read. Much better than those poopy wowhead guides:
https://wowtbc.gg/bis-list/retribution-paladin/
Click Pre-bis in the dropdown box and that is your best gear you can obtain through crafting/dungeons/heroics.

I agree they are great pants for anyone in need of expertise but he said in the post he wants to be super casual and maybe do some heroics? I think Pally has many more options than say a war who is not human.
You rolled MHP and specced Ret.
You’re already BiS.
(I kid, but good luck to you.)

For PvE pally has basically no options. Expertise is more valuable on ret than on any other class/spec in the game. You basically wear any expertise you can get your hands on.
You could consider wearing some plate pants for questing, but even for questing its probably best to just wear the shatt legs and focus on getting plate on everything else.
OP should consider smithing, definitely get shatt legs and probably flesh handler gloves, get those slabs quest boots, probably buy ragesteel chest/shoulders, and maybe engi for goggles if you want to put that effort in. If you have gold you can get the smithing bracers (black steel?) and there is a decent blue belt. If you can farm tons of rep the two exalted rings (shatar/lower city) are very good as well.
