Just watched the Warcraft movie (Sylvanas?)

Just watched the warcraft movie for the first time and im really disappointed the ignored the whole Sylvanas and Arthas story arc. Movie would have been so much better if they didnt.

Can the next movie please be about Sylvanas? that’d be amazing.

The movie only covers the First War which was only fought between the Orcs and Stormwind.

If there is to ever be a trilogy, the third movie would be where Sylvanas would appear as that would most likely cover the Third War.

The whole point of the movie was to focus what they did focus, it wasn’t meant to even remotely touch that story.

Next … movie … ?

Don’t think that’s in the works since the first one was bad … really, really bad.

its clear they originally wanted to make more than 1, since they chose the first war over something more interesting. Unfortunately with the terrible performance those subsequent movies probably won’t be coming

The Chinese loved it.

As pointed out, the film was based on Warcraft 1, so was well before the events of the Third War.

Honestly, my wife and I both enjoyed the movie. There were some liberties taken, but over all, it was decent. Wasn’t as much of a fan of seeing the Durotan changes (he and his wife were murdered by Gul’dan, not during a challenge fight), but the costuming alone was pretty fantastic.

Keep hoping we’ll see the WC2 sequel with some awesome naval battles.

I personally liked the movie. Yeah it took some liberties in the story but considering it was the only true movie adaptation we have had and probably will ever get, I was satisfied. I would have liked to see a full trilogy but that may never happen. However still to this day it is the highest grossing movie based on a video game and that has to count for something.

I remember people saying we were going to get a massive influx of new players because of the movie. rofl Maybe the bfa team helped produce the movie…

I’m kinda upset that Lothar was not depicted older in the movie. In lore he was much older and had a whitish/grey beard. Also I know that the Quel’Zarram is from RPG (therefore not confirmed canon) but it would be cool if there was an easter egg with Lothar dual wielding that sword alongside the Great Royal Sword of Stormwind.

I don’t think there is going to be a “next movie” like this. Sure they completely pioneered some exceptional, new green-screen and mo-cap technology, but it was not appreciated as a successful film.

Like many of us believe, if Blizzard can crank out beautiful cinematics and cutscenes, if they really wanted to make movies the players would appreciate and not have make a Hollywood movie, they could make their own darn movies.

And Hollywood is not going to do another one. They auctioned off all the properties. So CGI and hybrid animation is the only future path.

The footman full set armor was pretty cheap, like 2.5k I think. I should have bought it. Lothar’s armor on the other hand, sold for like 6-7k. Llanes went for 8k. One of the biggest regrets I had is that I missed the auction. Hope that one day someone will put it up on ebay. lol

The movie was so “bad” because they shoved 3 movies worth of content into one.
There was zero character building. If you didn’t know the universe, you didn’t care about anyone. If you know the universe, you were mad because “x” didn’t get explained enough.

You have to have some perspective when watching movies. This was never intended to be oscar caliber and, as video game movies go, they have a rough path into making something faithful and watchable.

With that, I really enjoyed the movie. They went out of their way to get as close as possible to a fan-faithful flic, and for that I bump it up another notch. Could have been better? Absolutely, but so could almost anything else.

As a WoW fan, I can say they did good.

What surprised me most was the Durotan book for the movie. Excellent read and enjoyed it much, much more than I thought I would. I wish that would turn into a movie – though it’s not canon, unfortunately.

If more Warcraft movies ARE made, I hope they’re strictly cgi.

And not many people know this, but the Alliance of Stormwind actually lost the war in Orcs & Humans, and they would continue losing until the Alliance of Lordaeron saved the day near the end of Warcraft II Tides of Darkness.

I lol’d

They should have just made a trilogy out of the Arthas story from WC3 to Wrath. It would have included basically the top 5 favorite characters: Arthas, Illidan, Sylvanas, Jaina, and Thrall.
